garcon magnifique
Doesn't the fact he replaces the car at 20k tell you everything you need to know? That he can afford a new one every year?
NewNiceMrMe
Doesn't the fact he replaces the car at 20k tell you everything you need to know? I don't read anything into it whatsoever other than he can afford to.
Tipex
What's money got to do with it? If you were confident in it's reliability why would you bother to replace it with an identical car? I could understand if there were facelifts or year on year improvements, but there aren't, I don't buy the 'because I can' argument i'm afraid. And being on Pistonheads, it's most likely bullsh1t anyway.
NewNiceMrMe
What's money not got to do with it? You're presuming he changes his car at 20k for reliability issues. This guy isn't one of those on Pistonheads either. For all we know 458 residuals could be best at 12 months old. It is anyone's guess, but saying it is reliability based is surely less likely than money based when we're talking about this level of money? Anyway, neither of us know for certain so I'm not going to argue it forever. I was simply making the point that I've not seen anything to indicate a Ferrari 458 cannot be a reliable daily runner. Woppum
You hit the nail on the head Chris. 458's are very year and milage sensitive. There is a sweet spot around 15-18mnths in to ownership where it makes sense to trade in for another new one when you take discounts in to account. I simply can not believe how much they have moved the cars on. Im totally smitten.
Andrew
Ahem, so what about this write up on your Romans fun then!?
Woppum
I never got to Romans. They had a problem with the 458 I was looking at so didn't bother going. After driving the 458 the cgt is not the one that I want ... Now just have to work out whether I want to place an order or wait for the right car to come on to the market.... Calm Chris
Place an order and see if they can do a interim "special rates" rental, you can discover the car in that and cherish the new born when she arrives in Oct. You mentioned the younger you has a Fezza already, so I'm sure you could leverage the position a bit via family purchase history.

Woppum
Give it til about two hours after you pick the new one up and you'll forget the RS existed. I don't think that is true. They are both fast cars sure but very very different. The Ferrari will never offer the thrill of the rs down your fave back double. It will come close sure but its not quite a go cart. The 458 in black is a batmobile. You sit so close to the ground, your feet virtually touch the front of the car, the engine is magic and its like travelling in a balenciaga handbag. I can not wait! this is the car
