Thanks mate. My only minor quip is the suspension is possibly a little too soft as standard, even in rock hard mode (where its too hard for the road). Cant really tell until i get it on a dry track and build some G's but i think its the case. You doing any trackdays soon bazz? Love to see yours in action too.

B4$tard!

I'm loving those first 4/5 pics. Have the pictures been tweaked or are they the natural shots?

I can only imagine the might of your RS. I purchased a 997 c2s a few weeks back and that for me needs concentration to keep it on its toes when pushing on. The RS must need full on concentration all of the time?

Thanks mate. pics are el natural, going to send them to a mate to sex them up a tad.

Its not a handful at all in honesty. Very easy to drive as its as tight as a drum, there isnt a jot of slack in it and you know exactly what she is doing. It is a very fast car but very managable. What it does not do, like the CSL is flatter. You sound like atwat when you fluff the heel and toe or botch a gear change and you do have to control the nose when planting the throttle out a corner or as hard on the PCCB's as possible but i dont think it will take long to get used to. 2000 miles :eek:

So Wopps - have you been keeping an eye on Chris "Monkey" Harris' blog on the EVO website? Says an awful lot about what an amazing machine you now have.

Porsche drove the car he was co-driving (in the 24 hour race last weekend in the Eiffel Mountain's most famous racetrack) to the 'ring, raced it on road tyres, came 11th!!!

Then drove it home... +++

Wopps, did you go for the Ceramics?

Having re-read my post, what I meant to say was that the handling of these cars is sublime, the grip and traction levels until breaking point is quite something - you really have to be pushing on big time for the car to break away.

What I would love to know if how much further you can 'push' the RS before it would break away? Did you ever get to try a 'regular' 911 to offer any comparisons?

Hi max,

Sadly I have only driven a 996 turbo and that was a few years back and not for long so really I can only compare with the csl, 430 and other cars. The traction though as you say is stunning, it is the first thing you really notice when you try to push on. You can really put ALL the power down out of the corners quite early on, unlike the other cars I mentioned where you have to ease in to the power. The rs rides on massive 325 sticky tyres at the back which probably helps put the power down a little better but I'm sure the general outcome is ultimately porsche behaviour. Its stunning and can't wait to try it on a dry track and really see what it can do.

Yes I did go for pccb's which are v powerful when you step on them but do lack a bit of feel. I wrote a little more about them in my rs review which is in the porsche section if you are interested.

Did you go manual or flappys max? Sounds like you are happy with your too! ;)

Everyday car mate, can't afford a weekday and weekend motor ;)

Now go try another feckus RS for use as a daily motor if you going to keep the 911 as your special toy - forget all the other hot hatches your considering!

Its less expensive to make the rs a daily I think so need another. Can't live with the racer fords image, inside or price tag. Just didn't love it :(
