Hi,

I'm new to porsche and the forum so apologies for noob questions. I'm thinking of p/x or selling my 535i for a porsche 911. I've got a 2 yr old and hoping to replace the bmw for a daily porsche. Saying that i don't drive as often and would probably do no more than 5000 miles per year. Sorry that was just a background :)

I've come across what looks like a low mile 996. I'm going to test drive it this weekend, but i'm not sure, it's done 37,000 miles had 5 owners for almost 20k.

2001 PORSCHE 911

I spoke to the car dealer, and asked if he or i could get a Porsche pre inspec, he said they don't have one but be happy to let me get one.

I'm not sure 5 owners and only 37,000 miles seems a bit dodgy? What do you guys reckon? Am i just being paranoid?

The car dealers pretty well established and do have some really expensive cars so maybe i am jsut being paranoid.

Thanks!

That dealer has a very good reputation.

I wouldn't let the number of owners worry you as cars like these get bought as toys and people do low miles in them, get bored and buy something else.

What's important that it has a complete documented service history and get it inspected by someone who knows these cars inside out. May cost a few bob upfront but could save you thousands down the line

I just spoke to someone at RPM in Glasgow, who would do a PPI for 70 +vat, which will take an hour and half. From what i've read on this forum, 70 seems a little on the cheap side.

Has any heard of these guys, are they any good? Worth getting the ppi done from them for 911 2001?
