Gave my recently bought Gti Pirelli a detail today. Now im not a great one for cleaning cars in fact i dont think i have polished a car for the last 2 years. I used to laugh when i read the word "detail" but having spent nearly 4 hours on my car today i can now begin to understand the term.

I washed using autoglym shampo with the 2 bucket method

Dried using chemical guys super towel (first time i have used)

Clayed the bonet (first time so just wanted to test it)

Polished with Autoglym super resin

Waxed with dodo juice purple haze pro (first time i ever waxed)

Exhaust was polished with megs metal polish.

Wheels Poor boys wheel sealer then waxed. (never done this before)

Before i post pics please bear in mind i am a total novice and my camera skills and equipment are pants.

Ignoring the clay, that's just what I call a wash. Please don't tell me I've been detailing?!?!

p.s. Looks good ;)

Looking cracking. +++ Well worth the effort mate.

I'll keep an eye out for it when I'm in Bournemouth next week

That colour looks superb when clean and shiny. I had it on a Golf I bought a few years ago.

That zorst is proper shiney - what type is it? It doesn't look standard nor Miltek.

Yep it is a milly cat back from previous owner. Was in a state when i got it but a few polishes with megs shined her up a treat.+++

I dont know the difference between a wash and a detail. After hours of hard work and sweet "a wash" didn't sound right.:roflmao:

Its turned out great, i really like that colour! Now you are on the path your wallet will be emptied on more and more stuff before long!

The exhaust tips look great in that first pic. a nice contrast also between the bumper and the paintwork and silver metal.

I think detailing is probably taking more then care then just spounge wash!
