stig414
I had this once, it was the BT module gone down. Because of the way they are wired in, one module causes issues with all the others, sorry. Daz
icemen
BT module, do you know how much this costs? or where I can get this replaced from?
stig414
Mine was a warranty job, but if you look around the forums and ask the right tech at the dealers, it is a common problem. Give Craig a shout he's only at Manchester, not millions of miles from the west mids. Top bloke, and honest with it, unless you can find someone nearer, he has my recommendation every time. icemen
thanks Rich, Have just emailed them. See what they say.. By the way my car has never had the phone in centre front arm rest. that should be a problem should it?
Cockney Boy
That wont be a problem, but to check the BT unit Gareth will need to do a MOST loop test. This will involve taking out the passenger seat to gain access to the BT module. The loop test involves by passing the BT units Fireb optic loop (MOST) to see if everything else comes back. If this si the case then you will need a new BT unit. But i did point Gareth to another memebr who had a similar porblem with his A8 and it turned out to be the MMI Interface that contols the MMI system. Lets hope its the BT eh. thanks Rich, Have just emailed them. See what they say.. By the way my car has never had the phone in centre front arm rest. that should be a problem should it? craigyb
Actually you don't remove anything to perfrom the loop test, it's only after you've ran the test and suspect the BT module that you take out the seat to by pass it.

craigyb
The PX price I got from Audi was £222.08 and I had to return the old unit to Audi. These are in very short supply and Audi will not sell a unit without PX. So a fitting charge on top as you have to remove the seat etc and recode. craigyb
I meant I would do the diags to prove it was the module. Just that I'm working at Manchester Audi on Thursday afternoon so you can come to the car park there and sort it out. Maybe if you called me tomorrow and actually had a conversation we could sort it out. Friday I can't do anything for you.

Mmi display comes on for about 30 seconds then turns off. Nothing works. I tried resetting but no luck. Did craig manage to resolve your problem? Ladylaughalot
Hi, it's my very first post on here, as I'm sure you can tell! I've been reading about the radio/ CD problems with interest. I have an Audi A6 Avant (2003). I haven't had any problems with the radio/ CD player until my son pressed the FM button 2 days ago. Now there's no music at all The display glows so there must be some sort of power going to it, but there's no actual display, as in numbers or words. The display continues to glow, even overnight, which I'm sure can't be a good thing. I am going to investigate the leaking-of-water-down-the-left-tailgate-hinge thing in the daylight, but it doesn't sound like exactly the same problem as other people have posted on here. Any suggestions would be very welcome, thanks
