jamesR
Seems that most people use them or want to use them. I fall into the second group, but every online forum quote seems to praise them then mention that they have 2 in the back shed broken! Is this the general experience of everyone here? What are the recommendations? And whilst I'm here what brand of foam gun is preferred? (Also can't be believe I'm only a ford Ka) Thanks for your thoughts. cabby
I have a basic Karcher model and in the 5 years i've had it never had any problems - totally reliable. Use it for the car and have a patio attachment which is pretty useful (for partios not the car!!). I don't have a foam gun but have yet but many on here have and will probably recommend getting one. Dave
I've always used Bosch.. I have a 160x pro at the moment and it's good for everything, washing car, patio, kids outside toys etc. It even has a drain cleaner attachment which is really useful. i use a foam lance to wash the car, with a snow foam attachment. I got my attachment from cleanyourcar.com.
rottenbend
And whilst I'm here what brand of foam gun is preferred? I have a good quality foam attachment for my Karcher and a foam gun (Gilmour) which fits straight onto the hosepipe. To be honest this is easier to use and gives just as good results. i only use my Karcher now for cleaning out wheelarches or getting rid of mud before a wash. The most important thing I've ever bought is a De-ionising and Water softener cylinder filled with resin. I'd get one of these before a pressure washer any day. No water spots just foam and rinse. Brilliant.

Dave pointed me towards the 160x Pro when I asked the same question a few years ago and it has been brilliant. :D
jamesR
Purchase made - kranzle. 10 ltrs/min Chosen as warranty runs for 3 years, (think brass pump head has 10 year warranty) Exchange rate to australian dollar made it extra attractive. Thanks for all posts, next purchase de-ionizing filter.

Doh!! Has now stopped working after longish (1 hour) usage. Winterising or lack of isn't the cause as it's worked many times since we last had frost. Was going to have a play and try and repair (it's buzzing when I turn on so guessing a pump or something has seized) but looking out Karcher's outlet site makes me think any repair is unlikely to be make much financial sense (its a basic model and the whole bundle cost be circa £100). Is the K2.56 any good ? Karcher K2.56 Deluxe Audit Pressuer Washer with T50 & Dirtblaster :: Karcher Outlet
