I have been using autoglym for about a year now and my kit is starting to run out.

I want to get a big kit encluding clay kits and wax's. I know autoglym and meguires products are similar, im not sure if i should stick to autoglym or give meguires a go.

what are your thoughts? and if you have used both how do they compare?

thanks, Ryan

For glass cleaner I really like the autoglym stuff (not the fast glass but the blue cream). I keep coming back to it again and again. For Carpet I actually tend to use G101, which is a general purpose cleaner from autosmart - does alot of things and is fairly cheap - pretty good for wheels too. Detailingworld have more info on its uses. For shampoo I am using the zymol stuff at the mo, which is pretty good and smells delicious, but I believe gold class by megs' is pretty good too.

for clay I like the megs' kit. Does everything you need and is easy to work with.

dashboard I use another of autosmarts products which is 'the finishing touch' - high silicone, but you can buff it down to the shine you want. works on tyres too, though I have stopped using tyreslik as i have never really found a product I like, and its not that important to me.

As for wax, I would use Poorboys' black hole glaze, then a coat of autosmart's WAX, which is probably the best wax I have used, and then top it off with Poorboys' EXP-1 sealer.

This is what I use, although I have white diamond rather than black hole, as my car is silver.

Chuck in a wash mitt, couple of waffle drying cloths, wax applicator sponges and a load of microfibres and you're ready to go!

I find it a bit strange that anyone would stick to everything, or most things, from one brand.

My cleaning box has a myriad of everything from everyone in it. I just pick up on what people are saying is the best for particular job/car/colour and buy that product.

There is AG, Megs, CG, PB, Zymol, Pinnacle, Einsatz and allsorts in that box. Not that they've been used on the 6 for over a year.:roflmao:

7-8 years ago it was tough to know what products were good and there was not many of them. Now there are lots and many of them very similar. Autosmart, Meguiars and a few others all sell very affordable basics like gallons of APC and glass cleaner all of which are good and will do a similar job.

Things like tyre gloss (or lack of) are personally choices depending on what you like the look of.

If you need to hide swirls or complete certain types of correction then you might want to select a product which has these abilities, but all in all things are very similar these days (with in reason!).

Snowfoam

Megs NXT shampoo stuff in a big bottle

Megs Clay and quik detailer

Megs NXT spray Wax

Megs NXT metal polish

and recently the Megs liquid wax which simply removes any slight swirling - its gone! brilliant

Before this i used an older version of turtle wax - wax and dry - but I became addicted to the smell of it. Mmmmmmmmm

new one doesnt smell as nice by a long way.
