Just for fun...

In your opinion what was the best looking convertible car on sale over the last ten or so years, throughout the 90s and prior to that? If you want to break that last one down to multiple answers, so "in the 80s, in the 70s and before" or what have you, feel free, but I struggled to come up with much for the 80s and thought asking for lots of answers might put people off replying, lol :). Doesn't matter what they were like as cars, we're just talking appearance. So, three answers minimum and with pics, please :).

Recent:

I think for me it's still this. Merc SL.

90s:

Pretty easy decision, the F355.

Older:

With a wider scope, it was harder to pick, but happy enough with this as my choice. Corvette C2.

Over to you :)

Best looking current car, period, is the Jag XK convertible.

1990s isn't that easy, there aren't many truly good looking ones. Probably agree, F355 Spyder

Or Alfa Spider maybe

Older isn't easy either, too many to chose from...

Does one with no roof at all count? 1958 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa

1962 Ferrari 250GT SWB California

In XL trim?

And turbo diesel or petrol?

No idea about trim to be honest, but I would guess they did it with something resembling the GTi engine, probably without the six speed box though.

It was one of the first main stream cabriolets to have a completely hidden roof when fully retracted I believe.

From the 80's I'm torn between a Pug 205 CTi, and the Golf clipper (or whatever it was called) cabriolet with the mk2* (ish) big bumper kit.

*yes I know there was no mk2 cab.

We ran round in a Corniche for a while - in fact "we" had a couple of them.

I say "we", they were part of the Omani royal family's really but my dad used to look after all their interests in the UK. Nice cars, wished I could remember more about them really.

We also had Ferraris, Astons and Porsches to play around with. I say "we" - I mean my dad for I was about 13 or so ...

Surprised at the Z8 though Chri5 - I think it is hideous! +++
