SINGH
It used to belong to a friend of mine, it had 96,000 miles on it then (80k now) and the repair bill was £13k. The guy paid about £8k for the car at a salvage auction. It's also on Pistonheads. I've emailed the guy this: Hi Buddy, Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but your RS 6 used to belong to a friend of mine. It had a lot more miles on it then, 95,000+... You may want to get onto the salvage yard for selling you a clocked car! The cheek of the gits... cabby
The fact the advert quotes the mileage and follows this with "100% genuine" makes me wonder if its the current seller that has been doing the clocking and not the scrapyard. patently
The fact the advert quotes the mileage and follows this with "100% genuine" makes me wonder Methinks he doth protest too much.
JamesB
It's the private plate that would clinch the deal for me. R55 SXC, he's mad giving that away. Yes, you spelled cheek right, but I don't think that seller is too worried about spelling.
SINGH
The salvage yard certainly had the right mileage. I was supposed to bid on it myself for the engine that was supposed to go in my S8 but just missed out. The previous owner is going to give him a call, Hopefully he records the conversation. Tipex
So hows he done 13k of repairs for 2k, and still intending to make any profit? I realise thats a stupid question really, but 13k of damage can't be hidden for a grand or so surely? How bad was the damage? as it actually looks like a nice car, shame. Sounds like the bad history of this car dates back to your mate (or his insurer) getting stitched up with a dodgy over inflated repair bill. cruiser647
Seller beware and do your homework. Trading Standards aren't interested in 'private' sellers clocking stuff.

SINGH
Also, the mileage is stored in the cluster not ECU.
garcon magnifique
How do these ****ing idiots survive? I'd be tempted to reply saying that you understand the previous owner has alerted the police to the fact his car is being sold clocked and he'd be very wise not to be caught with the car. Hopefully it'll scare him into getting shut quickly ... at a loss.
SINGH
My reply to him on 246.com and also quoted the idiots message. that rs6 not even yours so wat prove do u hav its your car I'm assuming you meant "proof" 1. An e-mail from you personally stating it was Clive's old car 2. A HPI report which I can can post here if you like that shows the last reg that was on your car was Clive's old private plate. SINGH
This is the car after it's accident. As you can see it certainly wasn't drivable. Read this thread where the seller has decided to come along and insult everyone! He's been sending me PM messages asking who I am as he's going to sort me out, t*at.
