m4ttm4son
I ordered a brochure from BMW, as you do. The day after I received it I got a phone call from our local dealer to ask if I wanted to come and talk through some prices and put a deposit down. I explained to him that I would have a look through the bumf he sent me and I'd be interested in a test drive when they get a demo car, to which he almost scoffed and explained to me that once the get a demo there would be an extremely long waiting list by then and so it would be advisable to put an order in blind as many others (sheep) will do. He then asked what car I drive and at the mention of my 10 year old Z3 proceeded to inform me that the new 1 series M will be an expensive car, if I didn't know. THAT'S WHY I'D WANT A TEST DRIVE YOU F*CKING NUMPTY! If they made the configurators able to take credit card payments, you could pretty much get rid of half the staff at a dealers
Busby
They'll be no joy for me as BMW are too tight to make their configurator work with Macs

NewNiceMrMe
Putting this into perspective... In 2004 I bought a brand new BMW M3 with various options, for just over £40,000. With it came 343 bhp, 0-60 in 5.0 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. It sang, it handled like a dream and it had full leather and all all the other luxuries you might expect. Now, some six and a half years later, my £40,000 would get me a 1-series with 335 bhp, 0-60 in 4.9 seconds and top speed of 155 mph. That's before I started adding the luxuries. So what have I gained? 0.1 seconds. What have I lost? Space and comfort for sure. There is also the small fact of people looking at it and thinking 'But it's a 1 series', and 'He must be mad to spend that on a 1-series'. Madness. The world has gone mad. Well 40K in 2004 is £46800 now (according to Historic inflation calculator: how the value of money has changed since 1900 | This is Money) add on the showroom tax on an M3 of £950 (can't really blame BMW for this) and you could still get your M3 from here Online Cheap New Car Dealer - Discount New Cars - Cars for Sale - Coast2Coast Cars, Wales, UK although the options may be limited you would get an extra 0.2 seconds
Busby
Eh? Works fine for me. It's never worked for me on either the desktop or laptop! None of the choices display and you can't get past the opening screen - it also comes up with a message about having the latest java script version but there are no updates outstanding. Ho hum. I know exactly where you are coming from with this. I used to be able to get a packet of Polo mints for 9p. What are they now, over 20p? And do you get any more Polos in the packet? I seriously doubt it. Madness. Utter madness.
