mark1972
Hello all Thinking about getting my DPF removed, followed by a performance/eco evolution remap. Has anyone done this or similar? Will it fail the MOT? Prob is my DPF light has just turned on and wont regenerate after razzing down the motorway for 30mins. Id rather not give audi £1500 for a new dpf. Also, does anyone know a north london garage that can do all this? Thanks Mark
shark_90
We do lots of DPF removals and can also offer the remap via our Self Tuning System which means you don't need to drive up to us if you don't want to. If you are thinking of using a company by the name you mentioned (I'm not sure if you meant that company or just used the word) then we've just had to re-do a PD170 car that they couldn't do successfully. Have a look at Shark Performance - Volkswagen Audi Seat Skoda Mercedes BMW Porsche Tuning for details Cheers
AudiPartner
Yeah, and as me and a pal just discovered, a remap without DPF removal is pretty much a waste of money...
shark_90
How so?
AudiPartner
we gained I think 16bhp and 23bhp (him and me) which in real terms doesn't mean jack! Not like when I chipped the S3. Much smoother power band though I guess...
shark_90
On what car(s)?
AudiPartner
The above; A3 170's.
shark_90
You should get around 200hp, dpf removal will give around 215 maybe 220.
AudiPartner
Well according to AMD Essex both cars were down on power to start with. Both cars ended up with 180-something BHP.
Tipex
If they genuinely were down on power, would it not have been more professional for AMD to have investigated the reason, and rectified it before they stuck the map on?
AudiPartner
You'd think. Lol.

Sorry Ben was a bit tired and didnt read it properly. How much would my B7 A4 TDi S-Line be for a cruise control module? It has a M/F steering wheel I recall that had some relation to fitting this when you did my last one? Cheers Tone
