Also, when it's down to '--' (I.e. <5 miles) I can only get 60 litres in the fecker anyway!

Risky though, say the journey is down hill and the sensor is near the front...

Used to hate bikes, reserve tank, fill up, forget to switch to main and rather than get a fuel starve ( a hint to switch to reserve) you just grind to a halt on empty.

Walking up the hard shoulder, finding a station and buying a container and a 5 litres (combined cost £25) is no fun. Or in the day, pushing 500 lbs of bike 2 miles, up hill, in the rain is a batch.

Thankfully bikes have moved on, bo more fidling around under the tank turning the switch to reserve while the bike coughs and splutters or forgetting to switch on fuel and bike conking out 2 mins down the road +++

These days you just fill up and wait for the fuel light to start flashing and then when your down to the last half litre it stays on and you start looking for a garage. Unless your gay and buy a bike with a fuel gauge, of course.:roflmao:

60 litre tanks in them aren't they? 13.2 Gallons pretty much, so 316 miles @ 29Mpg=10.9Gallons used, leaving 10 ish litres in the tank sounds about right ish for the warning light?

My M3 is a pain on that front - spends most of its life with the petrol refuel light on. Comes on once used about 50 litres of a full tank from a 63 litre total capacity. So asks for refill at 80% - which is pretty much the same as the RS3 above @ 82%? Wonder why they bring the warnings on so early now, or am I imagining things?

Try a Lexus ct, fuel light comes on when there is 13 litres left.... Of a 45 litre tank, have managed nearly 200 miles with the light on once :)

I bought one of the original Mk1 MR2`s in the 1980`s....the fuel light came on and a few seconds later the car sputtered to a halt.

That would suck :roflmao:

Fuel indicator on my S13 200SX was more an indicator of how fast you were going round a corner than it was for fuel content.

Sounds a bit risky, but at least it's is telling you the truth "you have no fuel" rather than "you can play fuel gauge bingo for a while". All of the bmw's I have had we're pretty good, when my z4m once read 0 miles range it started spluttering. That to me is how it hold be :)

The Lexus is the only car I have ever run out of petrol in despite range = 0 meaning you have 12 litres left.

Just phoned Steve and it's sold.. looks good in White, but lacks that 'RS' edge. To be honest it was priced to move, but he said it's gone in to the network rather than a customer, so it may re-appear.

Thanks for the update Dave, if anyone knows of an unregistered one, colour White / Suzuka / Exclusive , not red or black please, sitting at a dealers anywhere in the UK, please PM me, would appreciate it, ta

I saw a Focus ST in what I can only presume to be the same colour the other day, bit of a blue ish tinge to it, bit of a primer look to it, changed from different angles and light sources.

Have to say, it spoiled the look of the Focus, hopefully the RS will suit it better.

Think I saw that colour on a Kuga on Friday. Up close it looked great.

Ashley, have you go he RS3 yet? Been ages, need some pics!

I dont want to go into too much detail,as things are currently, very much in the balance, but there are a few posters on here who know what has happened, via PM, but suffice to say, looks like, there is a distinct possibility I will be rejecting the car, I will post up what happened, once we reach a resolution (Me V Stealers) on the matter, but spitting fecking nails does not even cover it, from my side of things
