ashleywater
That's a shame, whatever anyone else thinks of the car, you seemed to be quite looking forward to it, let's hope some resolution can be reached. I was looking forward to it, however after waiting 17 months and then getting an incorrect spec, is what you call taking the p1ss, by anyones standards

Hope you get a satisfactory outcome. Let us know the details when you can.
Busby
I don't know if we hear about Audi getting spec wrong on cars more because there are a greater number of Audi owner's on TSN, but they do seem to get it wrong quite a lot. Other than the salesman being ham-fisted when they place the actual order I'm not sure how they manage it to be honest. With everything being so computer controlled now I'd be amazed if they are making these mistakes during the build process. Good luck with getting it sorted. Re the Ford colour - I think it's called Electric White and I think it looks great on the Kuga and Focus.
Booster
In my experience with many clients over the years, it has NEVER been the fault of Audi. Always the dealer and in particular, the salesman with as stated above, ham fists. Tw8ts.
Luke
Don't they confirm the spec to you prior to the order, so that it can be checked by the buyer?

Booster
Don't they confirm the spec to you prior to the order, so that it can be checked by the buyer? Any decent salesman would do but we are talking Audi dealers here.... As many on here know, AliAudi is the exception to the rule: He emails you the spec and then talks you through him adding the bits on and then re-reads it back to you and only when he and you are happy does he push the button. I dread to think how many £500 compensation payments Leicester Audi have paid customers over the years. Scotty on here got a fwd A4 instead of a Quattro and got to drive round in the wrong car at their expense for ages till the correct one arrived. I'm pretty sure something happened to Milo as well. Sh1t, I sound like Ian_C!!!!
Cuprabob
Don't they confirm the spec to you prior to the order, so that it can be checked by the buyer? On my last 2 VWs I bought I added quite a few options and the saleswoman printed off the actual factory order on the system and asked me to check it. She was very paranoid of getting it wrong. Just to make things really confusing the descriptions in the brochure differed from those on the system plus it's normally an admin girl who enters the order from the details given on the customer sales order so too much opportunity for a feck up IMO. Ashley, sorry to hear of your issues.
garcon magnifique
Un-f*cking-believable. Or at least, it would be if it wasn't Audi. Feel for you, Ashley, they really have been a remarkable bunch of counts.
Tipex
Is it only ever Audi this seems to happen to? as mentioned above, almost everyone who orders an Audi on here gets the wrong spec, yet you never hear of it happening to other manufacturers. I'm sure it does happen to other manufacturers, but it seems Audi have some serious problems they need to address, In all the cars I've bought over the years, for the fleet or personally, I've never, ever, had an incorrect spec delivered, even on the A6's! Isn't the RS3 pretty well specced as standard? didn't think there were many option boxes to tick?
garcon magnifique
I'm sure it happens with others. Ordering a new Porsche is slightly more complicated than speccing a new bespoke aircraft carrier. Most of the Japs (and Jaguar for that matter) seem to get away with it by speccing their cars properly to start with.
Calm Chris
This post is starting to smell, spill the beans or give some more bully bull shite. Limited order car, limited spec- you moaning like a elephant on heat for 9+ months and you are now ready to reject, without any clues, hints or obvious good reason. Expalin yourself and expose the failures.

Always the dealer and in particular, the salesman with as stated above, ham fists. Tw8ts. Spot on Booster; It was definitively not AG's fault in regards to the spec issue, but conversely, the car turning up 12 months overdue, was definitely AG's fault, right now, they are all a bunch of feckin incompetent c4nts, as far as I am concerned. Thanks for the comments, really appreciated, been pig sick since last week, all I can say is, a load of feckin coloured cling film, slapped on the glass, aint going to put this right, without some heavy discount off the car....... Matt R
Can they not replace all the glass professionally, we have done it on used cars for customers who didn't want film? Probably cost much less than £1000 to do! You have my number mate, if you want to call me!
scillyisles
Changing a bonded rear screen often means it ends up broken as it is very difficult to take out without breaking. It can also lead to bodywork scratches if not very careful. The privacy glass option on the RS3 also includes a different rear parcel shelf with an inbuilt sunblind. Tipex
Why do you need a sun blind if you've got privacy glass? Bit pointless isn't it?

Cheers Matt, I might well take you up on that, if not in fact the "alternative"vehicle we were discussing recently, the way things are going with the RS3 to date I guess some peeps might think I am being slightly "anal" here, but TBH, a light coloured sportback A3 without privacy glass, just looks cr4p IMO, and considering the wait and cost involved with this car, I am simply not accepting glorified cling film being lashed on the windows, Corsa Boy Racer Style, so we will see, if we cant come to a suitable financial commpensation deal, then they are just going to have to, order another one, waited this long, so another year doesnt phase me at all, past caring anymore, I currently view Audi "Customer Service" as nothing more than a "Defunct Rodent" it stinks! RSJACK
Hi Ash Totally agree ! After that long of a wait it needs to be right. Mine has finally arrived in the country after 15 months so let’shope when it arrives at dealers (in a week) That the spec is correct. Fingers crossed hope you get yours sorted
garcon magnifique
The thing is, what kind of financial compensation would cover the fact that every time you look at it you'll think it looks shyte without privacy glass? Is there any way you can get a full refund AND sue them for additional compensation for the failure to deliver to contract after eighteen fecking months? I would definitely be refusing the car. And in your shoes I would be holding a grudge to MrMe Jaguar extremes and never set foot in a VAG dealership again. Utter feckless counts.

Your spot on there Garcon, the more I ponder over this situation, the more bitter I am getting TBH, but believe me when I say, they are going to pay, one way or another, that is absolutely guaranteed. Just to say to RSJack, hope yours is spot on mate.
