You wouldn't reach the pedals.

You need to be a gentleman of a certain stature to drive a Jaaaag.

Or an Aussie bird. :P

Or a sheep shagger from North Wales:o.....In truth...the XF is a great car....The 3.0d engine is uncannily refined...more so than the BMW and Audi diesels I tested....The car feels more at home blasting along sweeping A roads than hiking up and down the motorway network....but imo it`s not as well screwed together as my last two cars...a Lexus and an Audi....would I get another Jag...fifty-fifty at the moment....Whatever I decide to do....and despite the merits of 3.0d engines...I think I`ll be looking for a petrol powered car when I next hand over my hard earned £ to a dealer.

I know Mr Me would`t touch one with the proverbial barge pole...but if your on the look out for a Stylish family car, I would`t dismiss the XF before taking a drive.....I still browse a few BMW and Audi Forums and the moans and complaints by owners are exactly the same as those I see on the XF forum....so despite a certain FM`s nightmare car, I think the reliability of the current Jags is up there with it`s competitors.

I can think of a few FM`s who would disagree with my next comment...but the Audi I used to own felt like it was hewn out of granite...not a rattle or creek in 5yrs and 60k miles.....But the only car in the range that appeals to me at the moment is the A7...a new one is over budget...but this time next year I might be on the look out for a used one.....I`ll probably check out the 3 series coupe ....although I quite like the 6 series as well.

looks lovely, 47k?

Used Audi Rs3 Hatchback 2.5t Fsi Rs3 Quattro 5dr S Tronic | Audi Technik Centre

Why do dealers list pages of standard equipment??

what options does it actually have :)

Looks like poverty spec to me, except for:

Exclusive Paint - Kingfisher Blue

Bose

Load Through facilty

Very basic, I actually toyed with Kingfisher Blue on my original order...:P I think the Sprint Blue looks better+++

Anyway, back to reality... FORTY SEVEN GRAND ! ! ! Feck that ! ! !

Another independent stealer, thinking he has the motoring equivalent of "Solid Platinum" on his forecourt, and then trying to charge the same premium, anyone paying 47K for that, must subscribe to the "Gordon Brown" school of economics

Its bad enough paying retail, let alone that sort of money for a 2nd hand jobby

I just feel these are going to **** money over the next 6-12 months. . . great car, just all a bit too late

You might well be right there, I think anything that is "Thirsty" is going to "tank" heavily in the next couple of years, and nothing is going to be immune from that, but all that being said, I personally dont give a monkeys abouts resids, as if I did, last thing on my mind, when choosing a motor

Apologies, I didn't make reference to new/second hand - the price I mentioned is secondhand. Main/independent dealers have them from £25k on 2010 (60) plates with low miles/1 owner for that kind of money +++

Not many around here at that price unless they are poverty spec. I went to buy a well specced one a year ago at £28k but was too slow :-)

Dealers would show mine at only 2k less than I paid for it 9 months later, that's the strongest residuals I have ever had on a car.

The kingfisher blue car, yep he defiantly knows how to ask lol but with production just about finished it won't be long till its the last low millage one left

I think the problem with the residuals on them, is that they just aren't really that much in demand, given how few are being produced, there are still fair few new ones languishing in dealers unsold, so I think the values are being held artificially high at the moment while dealers are basically trying it on, great time to sell, but not a great time to buy used, as I think they will drop significantly over the next year, and especially once the new A3 is out.

I don't think the a*se will fall out of them completely, I see them dropping like a stone to around 20k, and then plateauing there for quite a while for decent examples.

Let me know where you can get a new Golf R for £25k as i would be interested in that. Pretty hard to pick up 2nd hand at that price

No they're not. A dealer close to us has just sold a Golf R with less than 6k on the clock, fully loaded, with a special order interior trim - for £25,000. It'd been there a while too. I posted about this on Facebook and we had a discussion about how the original owner must have felt when he was told how much his car was worth. Because it was less than a year old too!

There in lies the "issue" for anybody buying a VAG car new from the Factory and loading it with loads of options. Long and short of it, if you sell early you'll take a massive bath !

That said MrMe, it's fantastically sunny outside just now, the best weather we've seen since March so why the feck are you having discussions on Faceless about Golf R's when you could be filling your lungs with fresh air !!!!! :finger:
