I was fine in the last snow on summer tyres, it was 'interesting' but nowhere near dangerous - and it got me home unlike thousands of rwd BMW/Merc drivers... SINGH
Guy (gizze) on here says that a BMW with winter tyres in snow is better then an Audi Allroad quattro in his experience. I've just brought a new BMW and looking forward to trying it.

garcon magnifique
The problem, as ever, is the inconsistent weather we have. Depending where you live and where you drive, using winter tyres could conceivably be too big a compromise 95% of the time to be worth their benefit on the occasional scowy morning. If you really, really do want a 'winter' car - that perhaps does a few extra things a 5 series doesn't, then I would certainly recommend the Cayenne diesel over an X3/5/6, ML/GL or Q5/Q7, simply because it is better than all of them at the offroad type stuff (including snow). And it's arguably better onroad and more reliable than an RRS.

I am thinking that way TBH, my wife is sick of me taking her car in the winter and leaving mine in the garage, not sure moving away from BMW is going to do "More harm RV wise" than sticking with them. Have to see.I still have the only 550i M Sport in the UK so BMW tell me, so is it worth a good price?. It's treated better than the queen, garaged and used only for long trips.
