RS4 - what mpg COULD you get...

Wafer - you reckon you can knock that much off at the stealers?

Ian - I hear you, I do. The A3 is incredible for what it is, it just does nothing for me. I think my passion for cars is too great. As I walk up to my car, I want to be smiling, itching to get in it. I want to sit there and enjoy it further. Keeping the A3 and running as RS4 would be ideal I suppose, but I'm not sure I can keep £10k in the A3, AND spend 23-25k on an RS4. If I could, I could afford the X6, which I could enjoy every day.

At least £1,500... I think £2,000 with a bit of hard nose talking. All depends on the dealer and how their quartly figures are looking.

Agreed. As discussed earlier, bide your time: Keep an eye in certain cars you like and see how long dealers have them in stock for. If they are approaching three months, kick them in the balls with a low offer and see what they say.

All of the rising prices in used cars have reversed in the last month or so and the gains have been offset by big drops in this month's guides. 4x4's being the biggest fallers.

Anything marmite like the X6 will always be a bigger faller than others....

Don't jump in now, you will be getting one at just the wrong time....

I once drove my A6 4.2 Quattrosport avant back from Stevenage with a car bonnet on the roof rails, and managed to eek 36mpg, it was a blazing hot day and the aircon was off.

We never broke 50mph and coasted down the hills (Me and John Carter +++ )

It was a laugh, but we were sweating like pigs by the time we got back...
