Adam1405
I have an Audi A8 2004 model. i push the 'Tel' button on the panel and on the display it asks me to input my SIM, but It also shows me 'Bluetooth connection'. When i click 'Bluetooth connection' the only option i have is to change the name. My iPhone does not pick up the bluetooth signal from the car. Am i doing something wrong here? All i want is to sync my iPhone to the Audi. Can anyone help me?
Adrian E
It can take a few goes to get it to connect properly. Always seems to work better if you pair the phone as soon as the ignition is switched on - make sure your bluetooth options aren't set for power saving/invisible etc etc to give it a fighting chance of the car finding it. Then set the phone to search for a new device and it should pop up as something audi related
PsYcHe
Adam... I guess you have the Motoroal unit with the handset in the middle... That's the only 'bluetooth' bit in it.. To get it to do proper bluetooth, you need to change the car kit over. Or you could put a SIM in under the handset if you're happy to have two numbers (though not all SIMs work in that unit). Adam1405
Hi, yes i have the phone in the arm rest. I suppose i could buy a Pay as you Go SIM and then divert to new SIM when in the car. Thanks for letting me know.
PsYcHe
No problem... It's not cheap, but not stupid expensive to get a proper bluetooth kit and swap out the motorola one.
beemerboy9
The cheapest I've seen for a decent swap-round (though not as good as a top-notch CraigyB installation I dare say) is £400. That would but an awful lot of Pay-as-you-Go minutes on my separate car SIM card + I'm not using the car a great deal at the moment + I don't use the phone much while driving.
