PsYcHe
If it's to do that, then you'd need the AMI, or a Dension 500 to connect it up for Audio. Both getting on for £300. If you don't have bluetooth phone, then the Dension can add this for not much more too.
wordsman
Great, thanks for your help PsYcHe. I've been doing a bit of reading around on them and might go for the AMI. Do know know if either if them works better in terms of displaying menus on the MMI screen? Cheers
PsYcHe
I have an AMI and love it, totally integrated (as it's an Audi part).. I've had a play with the Dension and while it integrates with the MMI system, it didn't seem as good to me.
TrundleFly
I had AMI retrofitted by craigyb from this forum on my 2005 A8 and have to say it is superb. I know it can be used with a USB hard drive or iPod but no idea about an Android device though. If it sees this the same as a USB drive I would be concerned, depending on what you listen to. Reason I say this is that I listen to a lot of "mix CDs". If I rip these to a USB drive and listen to them on AMI then you get an annoying pause in between each track, which you don't want on a mix CD. With the iPod there is a very slight jump between each one but it is not that noticable. I think this is purely down to the different interfaces i.e. nothing to do with how it was fitted. So probably best to get in touch with Craig and see what he thinks. His website is http://www.tclsatnav.com/
