Has anyone got a Nissan Juke?

Hmmmm, cannot make up my mind, The black looks nicer but the last black Nissan I had was a nightmare. The paint marked (scratched) no matter how gentle I was when I washed it. The blue is bit more resilient but I'm not sure about it.

I need to decide tonight. We have a Qashqai via the employee scheme and they have said today they want it back ASAP - it's only 6.5 months old. I need to re-order tomorrow and have decided to try a Juke for a change. The Juke is the Tekna badge so comes with loads of toys (nav, colour reverse camera, full leather etc) and although I could have an n-tec Qashqai for £12/month more, I just fancy a change. I'm saying me, it's for my wife :P

Ultimately, whatever colour I go for, we'd only have it for 11 months maximum so it's not the end of the world if I get it wrong.

Yup, space is my only concern. The Qashqai is great for filling with rubbish rather than putting it in my car. We'd still have mine for the DIY store collections, bike racks etc. I tend to use the QQ at the weekends (not my fuel) so headroom and legroom may be an issue but it's unfair to insist on her getting a larger car just because I might drive it at weekends.

I'm still not 100% about going for the Juke when a cracking QQ is available but like I say, I fancy a new car on the drive and even if it turns out to be the wrong choice, it's only for 11 months maximum +++

To put it in perspective, the Juke 1.5dci Tekna is £177/month. That's for the car, insurance, tax and maintenance. No deposit or fees, the only other cost is fuel.

If it was for me, that's exactly what I would do but better half fancies a change and I must admit, it would be nice to see a different model on the drive. Personally I think we'll regret it in a few months but it's not like I would be keeping it +++

As someone pointed out to me yesterday, it's worth getting one just to annoy those people who don't like it :P

As a little runabout, I think it's great, much better than most of the other bland shite that's out there e.g. Golfs, Fiestas, Minis. As it happens I've been out in a 1.5 diesel today and I was very impressed. And for what I'll pay for it for the 11 months I'll keep it, it's cheaper than chips. For just short of a year's motoring, the total cost including the car, insurance, tax and maintenance is not much more than half the VAT bill on the rrp. I've had Qashqais for over 2 years now so fancied a change. I look forward to putting a funking huge picture of it in my signature :D

I don't think they're that bad looking. Granted they're not a looker, but the Qashqai is hardly a supermodel.

I was reading a while ago that the Qashqai has been the suprise success of the last decade. Nobody, not even Nissan's marketing optimists, expected it to prove as popular as it has.

With that comes a problem - people turn away from them because of the volume they see them in, yet they're very clearly an immensely practical car that are exceptional value for money (especially when you're Milo and can get them on the deals he can). Personally, I'd pick a Juke over a Qashqai for one reason and one reason alone - the Qashqai's look a bit Mumsy to me...

Qashqai's are blooming everywhere, it surely must be one of Nissans most successful cars for quite some time, and to be honest, I can't really see why?

It's a nice enough car, but it's nothing special, and it doesn't lead the sector in any way, I just don't understand why it's so popular?

It got a massive foothold in the sector as for a while, it had no real competition. The rav4 and Honda ones were comparatively bland and expensive. Despite the volume of sales, the residuals are decent and the percentage of cars made for export is huge. Despite what people may think of them, Nissan must be enjoined something right. Would I part with nigh on £20k to own one? I very much doubt it. Even with the discount I could get, I would still shy away.

The juke is just their latest attempt to make something different from the endless list of bland motors in the same sector. A brave decision but one that so far, is paying off handsomely for them.
