By the way, here's a name for you:

Kyle Downey.

He's a 17 year old Midfielder on our books. All the local big names are sniffing around him and it's unlikely we'll hold onto him for more than 1-2 seasons.

However, I'm not just saying I think he's good, he's proven good. He has been selected for the FA's England U18 Schools squad. He's quick, he's strong and he has exceptional reading of the game. He played in a game at Sunderland and ran their reserves ragged from the moment he came on.

But, and this is where the lower leagues suffer - he's only played 8 times for Bay this year. Why? Because his time at Lilleshall (The FA) is such that we can never select him! He's never at the club! If he'd been available to play I swear we'd have won a League and Cup double. But no, we have to let the FA wreck his career no doubt...

Christ, it's another non-league pervert.

I remember a cold, wet, and desolate night or two up there with my non-league outfit, Droylsden.

That was in the days of the HFS Loans Prem / First - we were a handy first division outfit back then - I recall you pipped us to the title in 1990-91, courtesy of us being deducted a bag full of points due to player paperwork irregularities.

Umm, lower leagues, not non-league, Strictly speaking both Whitley Bay FC (3 times successive FA Vase winners in a record breaking period if I hadn't mentioned it already ) are not 'non-league' under the new structure (and nor are Droylsden).

I go every week with LittleMissMe because it's a great way to take a child to a match without them having to hear hoards of abuse and bad language. Whitley Bay FC are the best supported club in the league by a long way, with crowds of 600-1000 regularly (might raise a snigger from many but when most clubs are getting 150-300 that's a lot!) and have a heritage to be proud of. It's also somewhat disappointing that we're the only club that could go up a league because of our ground....but ever since we've been eligible we've not won the fecking league.

Spennymoor Town FC, tch, feckers. The thorn in our side for many a season now.

They are big crowds for a Northern League club - a lot of Conference sides would be happy with that kind of attendance on a regular basis.

The record I've seen at a non-league game was 2.5k at Droylsden's ground (the Butchers Arms) - that was absolutely packed and I'm still surprised it was allowed! (If my memory serves me well, that would have been for our promotion-clinching game vs. Congleton Town).

I have many happy memories of semi-professional football - really should get out to watch some next season, as we have Newport County just down the road from here and Merthyr Town in the other direction.

The downside is that a lot of our support is from NUFC fans that refuse to go to Newcastle as long as Ashley is at the helm.

Either that or they're pissed off with Premier league pricing and they still come wearing their Newcastle shirts in token support.

The Bovril is excellent though.

Yup, thats still one of the oddities about Whitley Bay FC. Turn up at half time and you'll find the gates open and you get in for nothing. In fact for most of this season it's been like that from about a quarter of an hour in.

I know because LittleMissMe doesn't actually watch much of the match. She spends her time running backwards and forward up the stand or behind the goals in the hope she'll catch the ball. Or, she'll ask if she can run around to the club shop (below the main stand) and buy a drink. Five minutes later she'll say she needs to go back for a Refresher bar. Ten minutes after that she'll ask if I want a coffee. All the time she's doing this she reports back on how many people have walked in without paying! :roflmao:

Droylsden. ****ing hell. Bunch of chancers. Lost any remaining respect for Dave Pace and his merry men after that FA Cup farce a couple of years ago.

For those not familiar with the Manchester non-league mafia, Dave Pace is Chairman and Manager at Droylsden. A proper non-league Barry Fry - in his head if nowhere else. I suppose they do ok for a team from the shittest part of Manchester. :P

Strap yourselves in fellas, its going to be one hell of a final day.

Any last minute predictions?

I'm going for, Bolton down, Gunners and spurs for CL and Manchester to be champions.

So as they are really. Would love to see Newcastle in CL and Bolton to stay up but don't think that will happen.

Throw in the Spanish GP and its a good day of sport.

My last minute prediction is I might regret getting up at 7.10am through sheer anxiety.:roflmao:

My head says a City title win, QPR staying up, Bolton going down (I can't see them winning today, regardless of the QPR result), Arsenal finishing third, Newcastle finishing fourth - but Chelsea winning the Champions League.

My heart says City get held to a draw and we scrape a last minute win at Sunderland giving us title No.20.

But unfortunately I fear I'll have to post later today to commend City on their title win.

I'll say it again, the best team over a season always wins the league - no matter what the outcome of today.

Joey Barton hero for Man Utd? And his bosses at QPR are chuffed.

Dreams will be made and shattered by 16:50 , I have added in 5 minutes of Fergy time.. Good luck to most of you, that doesn't apply to any Spurs fans.

Oh and Arsenal in the Europa Cup now for that one Chris.

According to the stats, AVB has a better record by three points. Morale looks better though, and two of those RdM losses were fielding the weakened teams before FA Cup final and last week.

I hope they don't win the Campions League, but I feel like they will through sheer bloody-mindedness. Bayern have a few players missing too, don't forget.

Whilst I think Ramires is a huge loss to Chelsea, I think it'll be decided by Robben.

If Chelsea can keep him quiet then I think they'll win. I envisage RdM going for a defensive counter-attack policy again and they'll be very difficult to break down if he does that. Torres and Drogba seem to be on form and a sneaky 1-0 win wouldn't surprise me at all.

I can't see them doing anything else. Hopefully Bayern will get an early goal and we'll get to watch a good game of football. Otherwise
