More importantly, can anyone remember those who tipped Liverpool to win the league this year? I can.

What is it now, six losses in the last seven games, or seven losses in their last eight?

But hey, he's King Kenny you know.:roflmao:

We'll not mention Manchester because there is time to go yet and plenty of potential banana skins along the way. What I will say though is that if the blue half of the City can't win the league after spending billions of millions of trillions...then they never will.

..and factually you are of course correct, and by a long way.

They're 31 points behind Manchester United and have played a game more.

Yet they're a mere 14 points off the relegation zone (and indeed 20 points away from being rock bottom).

I don't think their form can continue to be so poor for much longer though. They've got Villa at Anfield for their next game and you'd have to expect them to win that, and then Blackburn away - although they're fighting for their lives as United will probably testify to tonight. I won't be surprised to see us come away from there with a point (and I'll be reasonably happy with that). All 3 would be nice though.

Well, if we pull this one off, it'll be Sir Alex's greatest ever domestic title.

It is also proof that the biggest chequebook doesn't compensate for weak and ineffective management and belligerent playing staff.

I've mentioned it elsewhere - but I'd really love to see what SAF could do with a flawed genius like Balotelli.

SAF could do nothing with Balotelli.

He's a total fruitcake and an arsehole to boot. He think's he could be the best player in the world for christs sake. The man is a nutter.

Petulant and overpaid. If Jose couldn't handle him, SAF wouldn't be interested either.

Arsenal will finish their title bid off this weekend.

The press are saying balotelli is causing major bust ups amongst the players as well.

Mancini isn't getting a good track record managing players (especially Italians) at City.

The Times reckon the Tevez debacle may cost Mancini his job if city win nothing this season.

I am with twinspark about balotelli. He is only young and has got phenomenal potential if he can just avoid being a madman.

Banging on about how much City have spent is getting a bit boring now. It's wheeled out by Man U fans as an excuse if Utd fail to win the league.

Utd have won the league by being the better team, by having the better manager and in the second half of the season playing the better football. Let's not ham this up any more than it is, yes they had a strong title fight with City and have done very well to beat them but the season will end with 1 trophy won. Look back at how you did in the other competions and it's not great viewing (just like City).

If you do want to complain about the money being spent at City at least make it factual and say City have spent so much in a short space of time because the value of the City Vs Utd squad is not all that different.

This weekend the two teams fielded teams at the opposite end of the scale. City put out 11 of their most costly players whilst Utd played with many players that cost them nothing as they had been from their youth team. Half an hour on BBC sport and sky sports shows a £40m difference which lets face it is 2 players difference.

Again Utd fans will argue about big money being spent on players that have left City or are out on loan, so again I will provide facts and say last night saw no Bebatov £30.75m no Nani £17.3m and no Anderson £20.4m.

Money can be used by many clubs to make a point but imho City, Utd and Chelsea can never use money as an excuse or have it on hand in case they fail to win.

Last nights team

De Gea £18m

Evra £5.5m

Ferdinand £30m

Evans £0

Rafael Undisclosed

Valencia £16m

Jones £17m

Scholes £0

Carrick £18.6m

Rooney £20m (not including bonus payments)

Hernandez £6.6m

Subs

Giggs, Wellbeck £0

Young £17m.

Not sure how it all works out, but since the very start of the EPL, you've spent nearly £200m more than United have.... And most of that came in the last few seasons.

Since 1992, spending ranking is:

Chelsea

City

Liverpool

United

And that's on gross figures, net is even more favourable to United.... At £177m for United vs £483m for City.

But get your excuses in early....
