CarMad
Yes, it does have the screen, so maybe it is something I can look at.Otherwise I have a tomtom knocking around so I will use that. Polo Gti is a great car, but not for the wife. She likes subtle! Apparently if you have the connectivity pack that gives you two SD card slots you can have the Satnav. You need to get the sD Nav card and the pay to get it activated which is about £500 ish depending on the dealer.

SINGH
Dave - The S8 was stolen a month after we got back, didn't get the car back nor a penny for it. I trusted it with the then technical director of the Audi driver mag who ran Avp in Burton On Trent, it was a big mistake, the police have very recently caught up with him though, and hopefully he will get what he deserves. But last year I bought a lovely low mileage RS6 plus to get over it (ex TSN owner's car) which I have booked to take over to the ring this April, and it is also booked for an MRC stage two conversion before then, so I'm looking forward to really enjoying it on the autobahns. I can't remeber what I managed with the A1, but remeber a 996 Turbo coming up behind me in my rear view, I moved over but still had my foot hard in the carpet, and he pulled away from as as if I were in reverse, was to be expected, I guess. Dave
Wow! So this guy stole it and your insurance wouldn't pay out? How odd! Glad you are enjoying the Rs6.. Awesome machines!

Sorry to hear about your S8, that really is shocking stuff, not getting a pay out, there again Insurance companies are just getting better at paying out naff all, and slipping out of any liability, by use of an ever increasing amount of "Exclusions" and "Events" that there policies do not apparently cover. Tipex
It's not the insurance companies fault if the car isn't insured. I know you thought the car was in safe hands Singh, but I guess it's a lesson that others can learn from, always always make sure your car is insured yourself, whoever you leave it with, and however much you trust them. SINGH
Lesson well and truely learnt, Tipex. As I had bought another car, I swapped the insurance onto the new car as my S8 was out of action and I was assured it was covered under the garage's insurance policy and locked away every night. Turns out the garage hadn't bothered paying the insurance company for the past few months, and my car wasn't locked away at all. It was outdoors on a dogy industrial estate. I've accepted I've lost the money, and some people lost a lot more then I did because the guy was, to put it frank, a con man. The police have caught up with him now and I really hope he gets what he deserves.
