One thing though, 21k miles is a long time to the first service. Even on longlife regime the maximum interval is normally 19k miles or 24 months. Just be prepared to answer questions on it.

Rocco looks good in white, especially with the Panoramic Roof. I nearly went for white but decided on blue in the end.

Good luck anyway.

It is variable servicing but the maximum normally is 19k miles / 24 months.

[h=2]Flexible Service Regime (LongLife Service)[/h] We recommend this service if you are likely to drive more than 25 miles a day, and if you tend to drive in the following way:

  • Regular long distance driving
  • Driving at a constant speed with minimum vehicle and engine loading, and minimal towing
  • Economical driving

This Flexible regime has been made possible due to the development of new Volkswagen engines with the latest technically advanced longlife oil. These engines use built-in sensors that continually monitor the oil quality, making it possible to enjoy reliable and confident motoring for up to a maximum of 18,000* miles or 24 months (whichever occurs first).

*Please note that all mileages are approximate as the service indicator system uses kilometres as the distance measurement.

I think the fact Drew's missus got it to 21k miles before the car asked for a service is an indicator of how it's been driven during that time. Personally, I'd be more worried if the car had asked for its first service after 12k miles.

Personally, I can't see a problem with it. OK it may have overran the first service by 2k miles according to the book, but it's a modern car that's obviously been driven carefully. Having seen first hand how his other cars have been looked after, I've no doubt it'll be in immaculate condition.

Good luck with the sale, Drew.

I don't doubt it's well looked after and I agree it's not an issue. As I said earlier, I was just making him aware that the documented maximum is 30k kilometres (18,600 miles) and to be prepared to answer queries on it. I have never heard of one going above the quoted 19k miles before.GLWS Drew
