AudiPartner
So I saw a 61 plate Merc the other day, C350. Easy to spot as they have twin pipes. Respect to her, makes me feel inferior in my 250. Anyway, I overtake it, and see it's not even got proper headlights. My 250 is pretty special for what it is, so to fork out for a 350, WITH A PANORAMIC ROOF, but not upgrade to HID's is nuts. Isn't it?
garcon magnifique
I, with my lowly 330d, laugh in the face of M3 owners who resort to DIY corona rings.
burble
Stretched tyres. I think they look funking hideous.

theduisbergkid
Sorry - I wouldn't even notice a Merc C class, let alone what headlights/roof/exhaust options it has, I'm sure they're great cars but they're just traffic to me. Stretched tyres, however, are something else..
cruiser647
Once you are in a car, you notice all the other models of that range like you never noticed before. My 8 does NOT have HID's nor heated seats , but with an options list longer than a blue whales c0ck, it's little surprise that some things either get missed or different ones chosen. They did however option the full integrated bluetooth that connects nicely with my Nokia C3 . I am sure many don't have that? Oh - what are stretched tyres? Andrew
I thought I did have Xenons on the M3. Actually, I don't give a toss what they are - never gets driven in the dark ... Why would you stretch tyres?

burble
I've no idea. I'd be all for the 'Taste Police' giving the drivers of cars with stretched tyres a good shoeing.
patently
Drove past a convoy of slammed Hondas on the M25 on Sunday. They were all on silly little wheels, going flat out (50-ish) and causing a tailback. I wafted past in the Disco towing the Caterham, and burst out laughing. They just looked completely ridiculous. burble
It's all personal preference and taste I know but I can't think what would make someone look at that and think 'Yeah, that looks good!'
patently
excessive camber Lots of camber helps race cars get round corners. So loads of camber makes your car really race cool, no? Just don't mention that lots of camber also kills straight-line acceleration. Which is why race setups use castor, to give roll-on camber instead. That's one reason why I was laughing as I drove past them, towing a real race car
AudiPartner
Once you are in a car, you notice all the other models of that range like you never noticed before. Quite. DBK, I wasn't asking if anyone else had noticed, I noticed, and was really surprised that's all. To pay a premium for a considerably better model when the "other one" is still really good, and not spec'ing it as you'd expect. Well, as I expect. Personally, if buying a modern car over £10k I wouldn't even consider one with yellow headlights.

stooH
I didn't put HID's on my new car, why? Because it's already got lights, they work plenty well enough, the option was fecking expensive and I get fed up being blinded by other drivers with them, maybe my eyes are overly sensitive or 90% are wrongly set up but I find the damn things blinding at night.
Tipex
If you don't do a lot of night driving, they are a pointless option. HID's are 'better' but they aren't the be all and end all, we've been surviving on Halogens perfectly well for plenty of time now. In fact, a decent set of Halogen headlights are preferable to a rubbish set of HID's, and certain manufacturers that I wont mention, aren't very good at HID's at all. M8CKN
These f'ing wheel covers. Why do people who drive sh1te 4x4s insist on having a picture of a horse, wolf, sunset, dog portrait etc on the rear of their car.
