bazza_g
This was my taxi in Seoul a few months back - remembered it when you said about the Alan Partridge "biggest fan' episode...! Photos over every inch of the interior showing the driver with his passengers/victims...!
cruiser647
Not sure if this is the right place... but it is a weird car thing i don't get. Agreed valuations. Just been discussing this on the Alfa 75 forum, as some idiot seems to think that because he's spunked £10k on restoring his car, and because some other nutter has given him a piece of paper saying 'I think it's worth eleventy hundred pounds', it means you can have an 'agreed value' of £6.5k against it for insurance purposes. How does this make sense, when the real value is around £3k? Have a look on eBay and you'll see lots of sheds where the owner has spent £10K or whatever, and they think it's worth at least half that...... Tipex
Seen this Porsche around for quite a while, what's going on with the brake light? Edited November 26, 2013 by Tipex
m4ttm4son
Bad connection when lightly touching the brakes? Or is it to get your attention?
Tipex
It's not a bad connection, it does a set number of flashes every time he presses the brakes then stays on, I can only assume it's to draw attention? cruiser647
I thought those lights were supposed to flash like that when you really brake hard, so the bod behind knows you are busy braking!!!
Tipex
Never seen that, some cars flash the indicators if you brake hard, like the convoy of Fiat 500's we had up Stelvio, all merrily flashing their indicators into every hairpin! It must be some kind of aftermarket mod? Edited November 26, 2013 by Tipex
garcon magnifique
I reckon that's aftermarket. There are quite a few factory brakelight strips like that which shine brighter if emergency braking is detected. Which I think is far more effective than any special sequence. Tipex
I've just googled it, it is an aftermarket mod, which apparently would fail an mot test as rear/brake lights should be steady not flashing unless under emergency braking. cruiser647
Crash into him as you are too busy watching his stupid sequence.
Tipex
If I'm going to crash into a Porsche, I'd rather it was the bloke who owns a pawn shop, thinks he's a bit of a geezer, spends to much time in the gym apparently only working on his arms, wears a woolly hat even in the summer, and rather than spend money on fixing the really very badly knocking bottom end of his 911, spunked a load of cash making it look like a slightly newer turbo one instead. Scotty
Some states in the US recommend pumping the brakes just to highlight you're slowing. I've seen quite a few cars do this around London. Edited November 26, 2013 by Scotty
patently
Don't crash into the rear of a 911. That's the expensive bit. Your insurers will be spanking you for decades.
garcon magnifique
Some states in the US recommend pumping the brakes just to highlight you're slowing. I've seen quite a few cars do this around London. Surely that depends how quickly you need to stop. I've done it in the past approaching motorway hold ups when I've had plenty of room but traffic behind doesn't seem to be slowing... either as well as or instead of flashing hazards.
