Nero
1998 D2 4.2 Quattro stock has about 130 000kms on it (previous owner obiously didn't drive much). Excellent long distance bomber which is what I use it for pity our speed limits are so stupidly low looking at some after market shocks eventually and maybe a bit of exhaust work/maybe not and a tow bar is a definate must have, no tow bar no track days on bike makes for a sad panda. daveenty
My 2007 S8. It was suggested by CarMad that I upped these piccies. Only a couple of poor quality ones yet. (taken with phone) Pretty standard spec, the main extra being the Ceramic Brakes. Only had it a couple of weeks, but it's been good so far. Spent most of my time with it just cleaning it up. Getting some poor quality trim sorted by Audi next week hopefully, so it should be looking better next weekend. IceBlue8
they did a nice job! how much did they charge? Oops - I let this thread go! Cost, I think, was about £120 which included an engine steam clean and lacquer, carpets shampooed, leather treated, all the door pillars cleaned (That made a hell of a difference!) and the aircon treated to make it smell nice! Or did you mean how much did I tell the wife it cost

I like the design but as i do a lot of country driving don't want to go too big or the ride will suffer lots.
SINGH
S8 looks very nice mate, It should say on the tyrewall mate, so for example 265/35/19. The last number on the tyrewall will be the alloy wheel size in inches. They are B7 RS 4 alloys, where did you buy it from? I doubt an Audi dealer would sell a car with replica alloy wheels so I would hope they are stock on a car like this!

I'm really only intrested in 18's (17's stock) as the ride is a bit crashy as it is IMO.

I've seen several similar designs on A4s and A6s, though not quite the same. Ride's not bad considering, though gets a bit harsh in sport mode Tend to just leave it on auto setting. Nero
Cheers I have a D2 A so i don't get to fiddle with the suspesnion at the push of a button was looking at some Billsiten shocks. The local suspesion guru suggested I didn't want to lower it as it would only be for asthetics and would mess with what the car was orginally designed for which happens to be what I use it for so I'll take their advice. TighTT
That looks great, what are you using to get that shine? Also whats GIAC software/w race file? I use a mixture of Menzerna and Swissvax produucts on the paint. GIAC (Garrett) is a US bases tuner that offers ECU tuning for the D2 S8 (and many other vehicles). I opted for their multiple programs including stock, valet, 93 octane, and 104 octane race mode.
A8_Tony
Looks very nice fella. Checked out the GIAC website, and the gains they are offering seem pretty similar to all of the offerings out there for the 4.2 V8's. 12-15bhp is about the limit that people have been able to find so far, but I believe it's possible to get around 10% out of them with a bit of effort The A8OC are working with Shark Performance to develop some new, bespoke maps, that are hoped to deliver an extra 10% of power. Development will be on the FL D2 A8 and S8 models initially to see what we can get, so we're looking at an additional 30-36 bhp if successul :D
