billy2shots
It will be interesting to watch the Rooney situation develop. Part of me thinks he got some game time to keep him happy and stop him forcing his way out. I wonder if he will return to the bench now the window has closed and Kagawa is fit again. oh well, another window closes and we can all look forward to the January window now. I hear Utd are in the hunt for a Spanish tea lady but are reluctant to meet her wage demands.
Twinspark
I heard you hijacked the tea lady deal - offering her eleventy times what we offered and a guaranteed morning tea service to the board. The posters are being prepared as we speak.

Milo
Continuing my rant from the other thread, Pardew has been pushed into the media to explain Kinnear's lack of success in the transfer market. What a joke. On Saturday, Pardew was on MoTD saying they needed new blood. Yet his statement today includes: "Joe has worked hard on numerous targets, particularly an additional offensive player," said Pardew."However, some of the options available within our financial means were not as good as the players we already had." In a statement attributed to him and issued by the club, he is quoted as saying: "There is no point bringing in new players unless they can improve us and take us forward." So Kinnear might have shown Ashley a few targets, who took one look at the the price tag, decided he couldn't attach one of his luminous 70% off stickers to it, and told him to go back to the pub. Then they issue a statement in Pardew's name blaming lack of money. Errrr, what happened to the £60m the club received in TV money a few months ago? Or the Andy Carroll money? FFS Ashley, either commit to the club or fcuk off.
NewNiceMrMe
The serious question has to be.....what on earth has Kinnear got on Ashley? Whatever it is must be front page stuff. Mike Ashley must have the thickest skin in the UK. He seems completely unaffected by the chants, abuse and media up here. That said, the Chronicle are right up his arse at times. If I was him I'd have fled long ago - to Australia just to be safe (and even then he'd probably get hunted down by the Adelaide Toon Army). I just don't understand it at all. I know of very few establishments up here that would dare to be seen with him sat in them, he's upset just about everybody at some stage. He still has to come into the ground with more security than Barack Obama and he's had some pretty serious threats made toward him. And then there is Wonga - announcing massive profits today and towing the club line that they're a perfect fit for the fanbase. Genius.
Milo
Have a read of the article online on the chronicle website, lee whatshisnam's piece. He lays into Ashley and Kinnear. I can't believe Kinnear's arrogance.
NewNiceMrMe
That's a major about turn from Lee Ryder. See the second comment below the article. He's not very popular for some of his previous bottom licking antics. It needed saying though because otherwise he'd be as 'at risk' as Ashley. NewNiceMrMe
You need to read them. All of them. There is some real vitriol in there now. Joe "Judge me by my signings" Kinnear gets a few mentions.
garcon magnifique
I'd like to see Pardew on one of those cosy little MotD chats with Lineker that they do this series. Lineker: "So Alan, thanks for talking to us, no signings and another home defeat ... Have you got any shame?" (Yes, I'd like to see Kinnear on there more but it won't happen. If only it could though. I wonder if anyone has ever told Gary Lineker to fúck off on camera before?)
NewNiceMrMe
I think that's the biggest issue he faces now. His credibility as a person, not as a manager, is completely ruined. The locals know he is a cowardly puppet.
Milo
"However, some of the options available within our financial means were not as good as the players we already had." So players that are better than ours cost more money? No sh1t Sherlock.
NewNiceMrMe
Tell you what, whoever "Jacob Marley" is wants to hope nobody ever leaks his email address or tracks him down. He'll be a dead man in minutes. Very unwise comments from him! I mean, who says "You don't know who I am, be careful." to thousands of readers of the local rag column on Newcastle....unless they already know they'll be dead within a year? NewNiceMrMe
Thought it was time to resurrect this thread. I'll start. Moyes has denied, in his press conference yesterday, that United are going to sign Coentrao from Real Madrid. He said there isn't an United agent over there trying to close a deal. Roma have confirmed they've received "numerous bids" for Miralem Pjanic and it is widely thought that one of those is from United. However, their Chairman has said he's not for sale. So that's that one closed. Probably. Herrera (midfield) and Costa (striker), both of Real Madrid, are known to have been watched by United scouts at the weekend - and the club haven't denied that one. They're also said to be interested in Koke, but I can't see that happening as he seems more than happy at Athletic Madrid. United have been linked to Gundogan again, but then again so has ever other club in Europe. Porto's Mangala is also being linked with them, and they might sell. I'll admit I don't know much about him though so it's difficult to know if it'd be a reasonable signing or not. Luke Shaw, as ever, is linked to United by all the press with the same story being that Southampton don't want to sell him to them until the summer, and that they want £25m. Marco Reus is being linked to them too. Now that would be a hell of a signing, but Dortmund aren't going to want to sell one of the best players they've ever had in my opinion. NewNiceMrMe
p.s. United have refused a bid from Crystal Palace to take Zaha there on loan but look likely to loan him to Cardiff City (not difficult to see the Solskjaer link) for the remainder of the season. I think that is just an announcement waiting to be made.
m4ttm4son
Word is a deal has been done for Julian Draxler to come to Arsenal in the summer but any hope of him coming moving earlier, in January is faint I'll believe it when I see it TBH. garcon magnifique
Tom Ince in talks with Swansea. I find the Zaha situation intriguing. Given my recent proclamation on the stupidity of football fans, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised at just how many United fans genuinely believe Zaha isn't getting in the squad because he's porked Moyes's daughter. NewNiceMrMe
I thought the Ince deal would have been done by now. I think it's a good move for him and for Swansea too. I'd like to see Zaha stay and get a few more sub appearances. I know Moyes wants him to get more action (except his daughter), but I'm not convinced a loan deal is the way forward. Sending him off to be under the stewardship of Solskjaer is possibly the best option if it is going to happen though.
Milo
Solskjaer to Man U, Moyes back to The Hobbit. No doubt Ashley will consider Joe Kinnear successful in the transfer market if he, a) manages not to sell the team to his 'contacts' b) we sign no one c) Kinnear doesn't soil himself

NewNiceMrMe
Apparently Newcastle have asked about buying Remy when the loan expires and been given a price of £16m - that being £1m higher than the 2 offers QPR have had for him already. I can't see Ashley liking that. However, I can also see Remy wanting to know who the other two clubs are, and one is rumoured to be Chelsea. I guess Cabaye and Collocini are the key to what happens in January. Does Cabaye still want out? I've no idea. I do know that Collocini's wife hasn't come back from South America though and my understanding was he promised them a season. Does that mean until the summer, or could they let him go sooner? The thing is, if Chelsea want Remy (or any other player to be fair), he needs to think about what that means to his career, not just his bank balance. Ba chased the money and look at him now. I still think Cabaye and Ben Arfa are the 2 players we may lose. It'll take big money though as Ashley at leats had the balls to chase Arsenal when they started playing stupid buggers on the eve of our opening match of the season. I don't think any [better] premier league team will come in for Collocini now.
NewNiceMrMe
Would Ben Arfa be that attractive to anyone? He blows hot and freezing cold. Cabaye is a different matter even though I don't think he's quite as good as is being made out. I don't see Arsenal coming back for him. Why bother when they have Ozil? Milo
Both would be bench warmers for the likes of City, Chelsea, Arsenal etc. Neither are consistent enough to regularly command a place in the starting 11 so it depends if teams want to add depth to their squads. Cabaye has already demonstrated he'll jump if the money is right and I don't think Ben Arfa would be far behind him. Tim Krul would be another blow if he went. But he too can be inconsistent. When he's on his game though, he's world class.
