gadgetmind
One of my door handles (rear right) has a duff locking button. I've bought a second hand one, and know I'll need to get it resprayed, but am wondering if changing it is an easy enough DIY task. Has anyone done it? I've googled for a guide but can only find people asking the same question!

snapdragon
You would be best off buying "Audi ELSA" off ebay for about £5-7. It is the official manuals, TSBs etc.. Every DIY owner should have it.
MichaelV8V
I haven't changed a door handle, but did change the window in a rear door, and the difficulty back there depends on the options you have fitted, once you take off the door panel there was a huge number of components (sun screen, door closer, speakers etc.) behind there, it took 35 pages of the CD-based manual to explain how to do the window. The window repair guy was expecting something like a big A4 (which it looks like), but went away thinking this is nothing, nothing like an A4. But, with the right ebay manual, patience, and a set of torx bits, its actually all very straightforward.
Tipex
You don't normally need to remove the interior trim to replace a door handle on most cars, there is usually a screw inside the door shut that once removed, allows the handle to be taken off by pulling it out and along the car towards the rear. Can't say that's the case here as i've never done one, but most other marques work in that way with grab type handles rather than flush ones. Now you mention it, that's how my Passat was. Screws behind blanking plugs in the door's edge in line with the handle. I would still get the manual, as even that involved unscrewing a screw so many turns, with the handle lifted 50%. If you unscrewed the screw too many turns it was said to drop down inside the door!
