m4ttm4son
Dortmund are a very fecking good side with a very fecking good manager. I think it was a good game, but tactically BVB had it spot on. The two DMs worked well to stifle the Arsenal attack and we had no width so was difficult to break them down. Might be some ray of light if we have Walcott fit for the away leg. IIRC Klopp is out of contract at the end of this season - He said he wouldn't break it earlier. I can see Man U swooping if the chance represented itself and things weren't looking any better at the end of the season. And it would make me very envious. I hope he signs a new BVB contract the same length as Arsene Wenger's. Edited October 23, 2013 by m4ttm4son
billy2shots
City have struggled against Dortmund and Bayern for the last 3 seasons. They give you zero time on the ball and are horrible to play against. Hope the Englush teams can get through their groups then worry about how to play against them later. As a tip they should watch the last 4 or 5 games of Atletico Madrid V Barce as Atletico seem to have worked beating that style out. Interesting to see Pep is not keen on Lewandowski (sp) sparking English interest again.
m4ttm4son
He probably reminds him too much of Zlatan. Not dribbly or team-player enough and too much of a target. Or it's all speculation.
Luke
Still think Arsenal can get an away win though. I think they'll go through.
garcon magnifique
I don't think Arsenal will win in Dortmund, but I do think they'll qualify in 2nd.
m4ttm4son
Flamini and Walcott being back and possibly a Cazorla in better form may be able to swing it in our favour. Though they have players to come back too, I guess. Whatever the outcome it'll be a great game of football
NewNiceMrMe
Arsenal won't win in Dortmund. The Germans showed that Arsenal have had a very easy start to the season in my opinion. I'm not demeaning what they've done so far and some of the football they've played, but I do think it has been overhyped. As for SAF's book - he has simply told the truth. Frank, honest, brutal - anything else would have been a con for readers. I don't like his comments about Beckham but the Keane remarks aren't a surprise to anyone who follows the club closely. They've had this 'feud' running for years now. Keane's comments that question his loyalty are nothing more than stupid. The press have jumped on the obvious quotes but as Garcon says there are plenty of gems in the book and it is worth reading whether you like football or not (and I've not finished it yet - I got send a nice present from a regional newspaper editor last night. ). It gives you a hell of an insight into the man and what breeds success in the game. Hard, uncompromising, control freak, dictator, you name it, they could all be applied to his character without question. However, tell most fans what they'll get in return and they'd take a manager like that without hesitation. He could very easily of made it nice, soft, inoffensive book, but it'd have not been true to his tenure. garcon magnifique
Keane's comments about loyalty and criticising players just make him a hypocrite. I wonder if he'd heard what Ferguson said in his press conference when he said that?
m4ttm4son
From the snippets I've heard, the book just reinforces his image as a mega-c&nt that will do anything to win. Lie, steal, cheat, gouge... I do wonder if he's like that in private as well. That would be sad.

m4ttm4son
I think that's probably why they don't get on. Too similar.
garcon magnifique
In some ways. I would venture that the flaws in Keane's character run deeper and perhaps that is why he was a (surprising to me) failure as a manager.
m4ttm4son
Probably because he can't convince anyone he isn't lying through his teeth. And zero tactical nous or intelligence. Plus, you can't physically bully the opposition from the technical area.

NewNiceMrMe
That is truly shocking. I hope they plummet down now. Morons. I suspect it might have something to do with his comments in which he said "Myself and the Chairman made mistakes in signing too many players, and the spirit isn't there yet". I did think that was a brave thing to say, but sacking him???
garcon magnifique
"Mutual consent." I wonder whether, in this case, that actually might be true. Parish (chairman) made a good account of himself on Radio 5 before the Fulham game, seemed to understand where the club was at.
garcon magnifique
The fact they're sat together in the news conference kinda backs that up. Putting a brave face on an impossible situation in many ways. At least going now gives someone a real chance at it.
