NewNiceMrMe
Hilarious! Wrong sending off too! No doubt Arse fans will say that's why they are 4-0 down, despite having been 3-0 down when it happened. This has been brilliant. Typical Arsenal. Early promise, late season capitulation. garcon magnifique
It's funny how the season has developed. When we started there were two realistic contenders for the title. Almost on the home straight now and ... we're down to the same two realistic contenders.
NewNiceMrMe
Arsenal, I love them. Like the setting of the sun you can always rely on them to make complete and utter fools of themselves. Given the first half of the season that they had, the form of Ozil (Mr Half a Season), Cazorla (has he left the country cos' he sure as hell isn't doing anything in the UK), even Giroud (Mr Complete Waste of Space) was scoring - to be humiliated by City, humiliated by Chelsea and even United took 4 points off them - can they even hold on to the 4th spot or will Inconsistency Spurs FC snatch that? Wenger and his 1000th game. What more fitting tribute to 7 seasons of nothing. In fact it only really needed a 7th goal. In all seriousness, just how on earth do they keep doing it? Does he get half way through a season and say "Right, play crap now lads, thanks" or is it just a case of his natural lethargy passing on to a team who appear to have all the grit and determination of a Moshi Monster toy? His comments yesterday were interesting. It sounds to me like he is seriously considering quitting in 2 months time. Calm Chris
You forget that drubbing Liverpool gave us, to add to the tally of drubbings you've already mentioned. A stat of no real consequence... Since the Russian ownership at Chelsea they have spent (buying and selling) just under £650m on players. In the same period Arsenal have spent £64m. It shows. The only way forward for Arsenal would be for the Russian (who has 3 x money Roman has) and the Yank major shareholders to throw a few £100 m in to a pot. We could then buy our way to success which is what Man Utd, Chelsea and Man City have been doing for years.
NewNiceMrMe
There comes a point when you have to ignore what Chelsea and City have spent. You were up there. You had what looked like a genuine chance. I don't think it is anything to do with what you've spent. To say United bought success is, well, laughable. The net spend of the club is way, way, way below that of the other big clubs. Your mistake was not recognising there was no top class striker - and then not even buying a second rate one in January. Anything would have been an improvement on what you've got. I find it quite funny that Arsenal fans keep saying how little they've spent, especially in a season when you splashed £40m on a man who has shown why Real Madrid decided to part with him. However, he can't be blamed. The rest of the team is nowhere near good enough and the fixtures eventually caught up with them (remember me saying how they seemed to have a very easy start to the season?). They'll finish 4th or 5th.
NewNiceMrMe
So Spurs are now with 6 points of Arsenal, having played a game more. Everton, if they win the game they have in hand, will be within 5 points of Arsenal. I can see Arsenal fluffing this.
Twinspark
This makes interesting reading... NewNiceMrMe
So how much have we paid per trophy? £8m by the looks of it? Whereas Manchester City have paid £285m each. And Liverpool have paid what looks like at least £45m per trophy (with none of them being the Premier League, I should add).
