Mark Lawrenson summed it up perfectly 2 minutes before kick-off.

When the teams came out onto the pitch and gathered together, Liverpool looked like a team.  Spurs lined up as if they were waiting for a bus.

They were beaten before the whistle went.  They looked terrified.

It pains me to say it, but that's Liverpool well and truly in with a chance of the title now.

Credit where it is due, they are putting the results away time after time.

I preferred it when you ManU fans were full of bile and denial - it was more fun that way.

Talking of fun:

"On 30th March 1964, Liverpool beat Spurs 3-1 at Anfield to go back to the top of the table for the first time since Dec. They went on to win the title."

Of course it doesn't count if it doesn't involve Popes somewhere......

You may recall that when Liverpool appointed Rodgers that I wasn't too happy.  There was a reason for that.

The man exudes a certain arrogance and authority that no Liverpool managers in the last 20 years have.  There is no doubt he has managed to motivate what I still think is a very average squad if you take Suarez and Sturridge out of it (I don't think the latter is getting anything like the amount of credit he deserves).

The simple fact is that if Liverpool win all their remaining games, they'll win the league.  If they do that it'll be a remarkable turnaround.

I still think the title is City's to lose and a lot will hinge on getting Aguero back (I think he's back next match?) and keeping him fit.

Whatever happens it'll be a good run-in to watch on TV.  I'm looking forward to that.

p.s. I'd prefer Chelsea to win the league out of the 3 of them.  I don't see it happening, but it would be the most palatable result.  City winning it wouldn't be much fun for a United fan, but for Liverpool to win it would be sheer agony.

Chelsea winning it would be a hell of an achievement for him.

City should have romped this title.  They have the squad to play in all major competitions without it impacting league form, yet they keep tripping up in games you'd not expect them too (after battering us).

It could be argued Liverpool had a very easy ride yesterday.  Spurs were woeful, disgraceful in fact, and provided no test whatsoever.

Liverpool had a sterner test against Sunderland in the previous match and looked nervous.  I think that will be key.  If they start to show the nerves when it comes to 'squeaky bum time' then they'll not win.  That's where I think Chelsea and City have the upper hand.  Their penultimate game away to Palace could prove to be a real test too.  Palace will still be fighting for survival in my opinion.  The only real test other than going to Anfield that City have is an away game at Everton.  That will not be easy.

I think the Chelsea run-in looks to be the easiest of all - and I would imagine Cardiff will be relegated by the time the last game of the season comes and they have to go there.

By the way, that last game for Chelsea at Cardiff has the potential to throw up lots of irony.

Hypothetically, if it is all going to the wire and the last match...

If Cardiff were to beat or hold Chelsea to a draw, and in doing so the title goes to Manchester City or Liverpool. the villain of the scene would be....

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.  The agony of that would be unbearable.

He has referred to the Alex/Alec question in interview.

He said that Willie Miller calls him Alec when talking on the radio and that Craig Brown sometimes says it but usually apologises and then calls him Sir Alex.

To most of his family, he said said it is Alex and the Alec only comes from certain parts of Scotland.
