Luke
They need a BIG name as manager. Someone who is not emotionally tied to the club. IF Giggs wins the last four games? Have Utd won 4 games on the bounce this season??
NewNiceMrMe
Let's be honest, we'll only know when the season is over. They went 7 games unbeaten in the league in Oct-Nov, winning 4 and drawing 3. There were a few European ties sandwiched in there too.
garcon magnifique
They went 7 games unbeaten in the league Even Oldham can do that.
NewNiceMrMe
3 points away from certain survival, I believe? You're going to play a major role in the relegation battle. Carlisle and County both crunch games for them rather than you from the look of it.
Cuprabob
Big question of the day is; "Will Giggs wear a suit or a track suit at the game?" Edited April 25, 2014 by Cuprabob
Milo
Even Oldham can do that. Just wait until you've got Team Sports Direct behind you.

Cuprabob
Rangers. £70M spent in 2 years!Yes, sadly it's all still very much a mess and I don't see it getting any better in the short term. Players paid too much, manager paid too much plus a few charlatans taking crazy money out for no input. The current board has a few colourful characters on it, that you wouldn't trust with much.Just no money in the game due to.the lack of sponsorship and TV money. The Championship won't be as easy ti.get out of as the other leagues. Edited April 25, 2014 by Cuprabob

garcon magnifique
3 points away from certain survival, I believe? You're going to play a major role in the relegation battle. Carlisle and County both crunch games for them rather than you from the look of it. It's been a hell of a run, based on solid, gritty defending as far as I can tell. With luck the manager will have the luxury of being able to keep most of the first team squad together and improve on it in the summer. The fee for Baxter to Sheff Utd wasn't huge but it has helped keep things stabilised. With a new stand finally under construction there may be a few early pensive signs of optimism for the first time in a while. I might even show my face there again soon.... before Boundary Park is renamed the Sports Direct Bargain Basement Bowl...
garcon magnifique
On the subject of Glasgow Rangers, nothing would please me more than for them to somehow keep it all together long enough to gain promotion back to the SPL next season, only to be liquidated again and find themselves back where they started. A shocking story of mismanagement, corruption and personal agendas that shows nothing has been learnt in the past couple of years.
garcon magnifique
When Giiggs isn't at training all the players will be calling their wives and partners to see where he is. Only his family. He's not John Terry.

Twinspark
Loved the Giggs press conference. Hopefully he can walk the walk, too - but if that enthusiasm and positivity has been passed onto the players, I pity Norwich this Saturday. I'm not convinced we were ever going to get Bale and Fabregas. Even if Gill had been on the case. Even if we did, we'd probably have ended up with Fabregas in central defence and Bale in goal, or something For those who haven't seen it... NewNiceMrMe
I think the Norwich game will be tougher than you think. Much tougher. A one or two-nil win would be a good result. Any win would.
Twinspark
I can't believe that the players I saw at the Youth Cup final back in the early 90s are now running the first team for the rest of the season! Recognise anyone there?

NewNiceMrMe
I think you're being incredibly optimistic and I'm baffled as to how you think so much could change in less than week? I hope it has, but this isn't going to be an easy game and I think it is a little unfair to hype up the potential of someone who has never managed a single team in his life! Twinspark
There's a buzz and excitement about the place - I've just been browsing the Getty photos of training today and the whole atmosphere has changed. People smiling, enjoying themselves. That's a big part of getting them playing proper football again. If he can release the talents of Januzaj, Mata and Kagawa, who knows what might happen? We have some of the most exciting and creative talents in the Premier League to play with... and they've been freed from the shackles of mid-table safety. I'm genuinely really looking forward to the game for the first time in months. Edited April 25, 2014 by Twinspark
