Milo
There must be one of "David" Giggs looking like a rabbit caught in the headlights?!!!..... He will be forever known as David Giggs
TP27
He will be forever known as David Giggs An absolute classic - and the slip up in introducing him as David in the Press meeting must have broken the ice and made for a better interview overall (for Giggsie), I suspect. You have to love human frailties at times..........!!
garcon magnifique
Well, if there is a David Giggs, at least we know Ryan's probably shagged his wife.

NewNiceMrMe
News in the Dutch press this morning that United have already approached Van Gaal. The club have immediately issued a statement to deny it. So it's probably true.
TP27
News in the Dutch press this morning that United have already approached Van Gaal. : Out of interest - ManU are nearly £400 Million in debt and servicing interest on that debt is one of their highest annual costs. Moyer cost £10 Million to 'remove' so increasing debt by the Club is not a concern.... So - can they afford Van Gaal and if so, how much will he cost and if all does not work out with him either, how much will it cost to 'remove' him too? These costs do not take account of the need to buy in new players, pay the existing squad, including Mata and Shrek nor the cost of not qualifying for the CL. David Gibbs might just be a very cheap option, if he can cut it ??
NewNiceMrMe
The debt 'issue' is vastly over hyped. The revenues of the club are collosal. The sponsorship deals are almost all 3-5 year deals so the club is largely unaffected by what would have been a maximum loss of £30m from no Champions League football next year. There is £150 million (some reports say £200m) to buy players with, over £100m of which is there in cash. The club doesn't have any issues at all servicing what it owes - there are lots of others with much less debt but in much more precarious positions. TP27
I suppose when you relate these figures to the reported losses of the like of RBS and Co-Op Bank (and others in the Financial Sector), the figures and prospective spend of ManU going forward look like loose change !!!! NewNiceMrMe
Indeed. Look at the last reported audit of club revenues and you'll see why there isn't too much an issue....
garcon magnifique
There is still a chance the Glazers' debt loading of the club will cause problems, but the most likely scenario was a collapse of other Glazer businesses in the US recession affecting their ability to restructure United debt when they needed to. In particular there were fixed term policies that would have incurred punishing interest rates if the Glazers had been unable to settle them and move the debt elsewhere. Having now done that, and the worst of the US recession now behind us, the club's finances are in a healthier position and certainly able to survive a season (or two?) out of the Champions League. I still think the way the Glazers bought the club should be illegal. And it does make you wonder where the club might be now if it hadn't had to service such colossal debt. NewNiceMrMe
The people who wish doom on the club financially always miss the same point too - the fact there would be a queue of middle east billionairres wanting to buy the club off them. The last valuation was around £1.2 billion - even with the debt.
cruiser647
I am agreeing with TS today - Norwich are going to get a right wiping! DG will have gee'd the Man U boys up so much, they'll be like horses in the traps at the start of the race!

garcon magnifique
On today's game, I think Norwich will score. They have absolutely nothing to lose and Former Oldham Legend Neil Adams (to give him his full name) has already shown that if they're going down they'll do it attacking. Cuprabob
If I.was Moyes, I would take some of my pay off and offer the.Norwich players a win bonus to wipe the smug hrin off Giggs' face. Edited April 26, 2014 by Cuprabob

Calm Chris
Everton have had a real wobble of late. Thank feck, thought they'd nick the 4th spot from Arsenal. Fortunately (and I find this hard to fathom) they have been more rubbish than us.

NewNiceMrMe
Well that changed when he brought Mata on, but well done to him for recognising it needed to be done. A good result but still the same type of performance. I'm not sure anything was learned from today other than the fact the days of Ferdinand and Vidic are long gone. I still don't think Kagawa has a place in the team, and Valencia has to go too. So that's 3 more on top of Vidic going in my book. Oh and Cleverley? No. However, well done Ryan Giggs in a game that could easily have been a banana skin. I'm pleased.
Twinspark
As predicted... once that first went in, there was only going to be one result. 2nd half performance was very good - no idea how Hernandez missed the chance to make it 5, though!
