Luke
Well that was hard work. Very strange team. Barndoor up front and captain, Kane left wingish, all very disjointed and unbalanced. Barndoor was dreadful and got the biggest cheer of the night when he got taken off. Erikson had a poor night too. Utd weren't much and we're happy to go back to theirs with a 0-0. They didn't really threaten at all apart from once or twice. Wish Poch' would stop messing around with the team. billy2shots
No mention of the Cambridge v Man U match. I guess poor Utd performances don't surprise us anymore.
NewNiceMrMe
You didn't mention City being beaten last week either, I noted? Do you now just appear when you win or United lose? Are you an Arsenal fan in disguise? Edited January 24, 2015 by NewNiceMrMe
billy2shots
Just busy. City were very poor and Arsenal very good. City have played poorly most of the season and you know my thoughts on our injury prone strike force and how the Bony signing is 5 months to late. However we didn't just draw against Cambridge! So every cloud. I'm not too interested in the results as anyone that follows football will be aware the Van Gaal's record is no better than the manager he replaced. It's the performances I'm interested in. Even when winning the quality of play had been appalling imho. It's not helped with poor management with regard team selection and then the poisons played by those selected. Another thing that has me thinking is the development of players. Utd used to pick up young talents or promote from the reserves and turn them into quality players. The opposite seems to be true now. Ashly Young has gone backwards at Utd. Phil Jones has gone backwards Chris Smalling, backwards Fellaini, backwards Mata, question marks over him. Herrera, Shaw and Di Maria, Falcao, it's still early days but it's not looking promising. Apart from De Gea I can't see anyone who has improved. All clubs make duff signings and some players just can't cut it at the big clubs. Maybe as a city fan I'm blinkered but I really am struggling to see any progress from individual players or the team as a whole.
garcon magnifique
United were simply doing their bit to support lower league football. The replay will be a great pay day for Cambridge that they fully deserve. It'll probably cover their wage bill for the season.
Luke
Utd's problem is that SAF was so bloody good.

Unless you happen to support one of those clubs of course. (Yes MrMe, Utd are still in the cup) Add to that Saints and Spurs and its complete madness!!!!! NewNiceMrMe
£1 accumulator bet on Bradford, Boro, Leicester and Palace - would have won well over £300,000. If you'd added a Cambridge draw into that - your winnings would have been over £1m. It is also the first time in history that the top 3 teams from the top 3 division have gone out of the FA Cup in the same round.

Will need to check the starting 11 for City and Chelsea to see if they were resting players and not concentrating on this completion (bigger fish to fry). Even so, their squads are good enough to have won these games at home.

billy2shots
City to finish the season trophyless now? May well do. Strong sides fielded although Chelsea did make a couple more changes. Good old fashioned cup upsets.
