I can take good honest commentary but, as Luke indicates above, Martin Keown went way past the point at which his remarks were a joke tonight.

A number of news articles are surfacing about how 'displeased' Twitter was with him tonight, but just a few of the tweets for you (and these were selected by The Independent, not me!)...

@PaddyPower - is Martin Keown just making his own rules up?

@EricLalor - Di Maria, played a World Cup, MOTM in CL Final, won everything. 'This is a big night for him.' - Martin Keown

@_SportsBoy_ - Martin Keown couldn't be anymore biased if he was in the stands throwing pizza.

@Pottsy31 - Martin Keown is an embarassmentPaddy Crerand is available if you would like a more balanced view.

@LPotter986 - my 4 year old daughter could commentate with more professionalism than Martin keown waste of a salary shocking.

@ScottSmith294 - Does Martin Keown still think he plays for Arsenal?

@bgglenndenning - Martin Keown again extolling the virtues of Kevin Davies (assist) 'leaning' abilities. Is leaning and falling over really a skill?

How is it interfering with play?

He didn't touch it.  He isn't in the line of sight.  It is Martin Keown - full of shite as usual.

Aaah - nice to see ManU adopting the old Stoke tactic of putting a man on the goalie after successfully integrating their Long Ball tactic :P

Felt sorry for Preston with that one.

The dive for the penalty was bad, the way people are looking to defend him just because it's Rooney even worse. Had that been a foreigner or Young everyone would have been baying for the blood of the cheating scumbag etc etc

How was it "bad"?

Is this a fan of Liverpool and Mr Diving Suarez and Master Diver Gerrard I hear whinging?  Surely not?

The game was over.  Had he not jumped higher than Dick Fosbery ever managed, he'd have been taken out and put up in the middle of Row K.

Every single referee on the planet would have given that penalty - and rightly so.

Totally agree .... but he could have made an effort to stay on his feet instead of using it as an excuse to look like he'd been shot!

I suggest you're underestimating the quality of Rooney as the consummate Professional - he may have looked as if he'd been shot but the timing of his dive was exceptional - clear penalty as a result!

Looks like it's the green light for the new stadium. Great news for the club and for the local area, which needs much improvement. Hopefully will generate some new jobs and make it a nicer place to live. And also get a few more fans in the ground.

Kane will go next year unless someone comes in with a stupid bid in the summer.  I think most clubs will want to see another season of similar or better form out of him before they decide to throw money at it.

The stadium news is good for Spurs.  Whether Levy will deliver the stadium the fans think they need or a half-cocked version to save pennies at every opportunity is another thing altogether.

I think a lot of the above will depend on whether or not they get Champions League football qualification.  If I was a betting man right now I wouldn't be putting money on that.  I still think it'll be Chelsea, City, United and Southampton that get those - and in that order.  I can see S'oton holding out at the huge expense of Arsenal and Spurs.  If they don't, it'll be Arsenal that take the place.

Although WHL creates a great atmosphere and you can get very close to the action, it's facilities are massively out of date. Toilets, catering, access are all bloody awful. The current stadium hasn't been touched as they've been waiting ages for the ok to start on the new one. It really is in terrible condition when you get up close.

Be interesting to see if the new stadium look like the pictures on the posters around the ground.

They want to update those posters too, as there are pictures of people wearing the team shirts with Bale and Modric on the back!

I know this is on an entirely different scale but....

You'll never get what is promised.  Not at Spurs, not at any club.

As is known by many, I avidly support my local 'lower league club'.  They enjoyed a period of unprecedented success.  Breaking record after record and winning the FA Vase 3 years in succession.  In doing so they brought in a mass of money.  Crowds, prize money, even TV money.

We were promised a new toilet block, a new stand and better facilities.  To say the money would have provided these multiple times over and a lot more would be an understatement.

Guess what we got?

Nothing.

The manager has since left.  The club is now languishing in the middle of nowhere from a league perspective and nobody seems to know what happened to the money.  Actually, we do, but I'm not going to say where it has gone because if this is ever found I'll end up being threatened with court action like a lot of other irate fans have.

Football and money - it sucks.  I think a lot of people think it is only the big clubs that rip the fans off.  Trust me, they get the best treatment of any set of fans.

I have stopped going now and I won't go back until we have a new Chairman.

You should see the number of artists' impressions of new stands and new stadia we've seen at Oldham over the last decade. For a long while the only sign of progress was the gap where the north stand used to be, a stand that was demolished before it fell down. At least now there is the full skeleton of a new stand on that side of the ground, but work is slow and painful and only inches forward when the next chunk of cash becomes available. I wouldn't like to predict when it'll open, and as for the comparison of reality and all those drawings...

And that's with a chairman who genuinely has the best interests of the club at heart. Even now when it's widely known he'd happily sell he'll only do so if he believes it's right for the club.

I always laugh when Premier League fans moan about facilities.

Our bar is actually very good (the club is right next to a pub for a start!) but the club canteen is something from another age.

All our youngest has ever been bothered about is the fact they sell pink Refresher bars - something you'll not find anywhere else in all likelihood!  All I have ever bothered about is that they sell Bovril.  You think that is crap?  You've obviously never stood in the stands at a club on the Northeast coast in the middle of winter when the ground is entirely open ended... :roflmao:

Sir Ranulph Fiennes considered spending 90 minutes in our ground, but decided it was just a test too far. :roflmao:

I bet Boundary Park with a hole where the north stand was is every bit as cold as your little shed in the north.  It's not known as Ice Station Zebra for nothing. :P

There's something unique about football Bovril.  The granule stuff.  Just add heavy water from a nuclear reactor.  Buy it on the way in, keep your hands warm for the first half and it'll still burn all the skin off your mouth at half time.
