Is this genuine? If so, sheds LVG in a pretty poor light:

There is nothing new in that.

He shouldn't have let him go but if he felt he didn't fit then I don't see how it shows him in a bad light?  It is what managers do - they choose players and let others go.

That could be applied to every league manager today.

Hernandez wasn't the scoring machine for United that you might think.  He started off very well indeed and tailed off badly.  However, I do think we should have kept him.

I don't like LVG.  I'd like him to go.  I'm just saying I can't quite see how that post shows him in a bad light?

Indeed, I never listen to "players aren't happy" stories.

It was only a week ago that a number of players said that story was rubbish and that there was no discontent in that respect.

They're much more likely, as Mata has said on his blog this week, to be unhappy about their performances.

Yeah simply an insight into what really goes on.

What made him cry the other 2 times? (The big girl's blouse)

The thing is, I really liked his passion for the game and how hard he worked.

However, the statistics do back up LVG's decision to get rid (despite most United fans I know wanting him to stay).

He scored a goal every 2.7 games for United.

Contrast that to a goal every 2.0 games for Rooney (bearing in mind how often he's not played as a striker now).

Daniel Sturridge at Liverpool with a goal every 1.6 games.

Aguero bangs a goal in every 1.5 games!

They may be strikers of a different level, but Hernandez never really firmly established himself.

Put all of that to one side though and I'd still have liked him to stay.  He's showing what he can do if the set-up is right for him.  He's scored 17 goals in 20 games for Bayer Leverkusen. :roflmao:

Win the title in May, sacked in December.  Bizarre.

If anyone is allowed a bad season, it was him (or Sir Alex).

I just cannot see how it is his fault.  It isn't about strategy or selection, that seems fine and nobody appears to have questioned it.  However, the players have been appalling.  Hazard and Costa look like average players who couldn't give a toss.  The defence has been poor to say the least and they've screamed "we're champions, we don't need to work" all season to me.

He's been a proper miserable git this season so I hope he finds his old-self in the future.

Agreed....... am I just imagining this?

But didn't it all start with JT's fall from favour,so maybe it has been a changing room led play like cr4p on purpose to get the manager through the door?

It's just down to Jose's 3rd season syndrome. That's one of the reasons Utd didn't hire him as he has no longevity and things always turn sour within 3 seasons.

Managers don't last long nowadays but clubs appoint managers with the intention of a long successful spell.

Mourinho almost guarantees very short term success but medium term turmoil.

Perfectly suited to Real Madrid.

It is an interesting contrast too.

Mourinho - bitter, miserable and not the man he was.  However, he was still selecting the same team with the same tactics,  The players simply decided to down tools.

Van Gaal - clueless, selections that baffle everyone, strategy that nobody understands, yet he keeps his job.

I think he might not have a job very soon!

The bookies are taking a spanking on Leicester results. Chelsea were favourites on Monday, Everton were favourites today. Not sure why on our form!

Top of the table for Christmas! Absolutely loving that fact!

A draw between Arsenal and Man City on Monday would be lovely!

Like many I'm waiting for the Leicester capitulation but in the not too distant future they are going to have to be taken seriously.

No team has not made the top 4 with the points they currently have at this point in the season. Leicester in the champions league is a brilliant thought.

Personally i really hope they do it and if they do then surely Ranieri has to go down as some kind of miracle worker. I can't really remember anything like it. Everton made the CL a few years ago, Blackburn winning the league (but that as bank rolled), what is there to compare this to?
