Oh he'll be off, there's nothing so sure.

I'm still trying to grasp the magnitude of this for them as a club.  Had they finished second with a late flurry, or even in the top 4, that would have been a storming success and indeed it still is.

Except it isn't...

They should have won the title.  They had the chance.  They were in pole position and with a points advantage.  With 5 games to go (and less) they knew the title was in their hands.  So clearly the club has geared up, fans have got excited, the entire City has been non-stop about it in terms of media coverage, and as I've said I am convinced Rodgers and the team thought they'd won it.

Now it will feel like a crushing failure.  Gerrard isn't going to get that much coveted Premier League Winners medal.  Not this year, not ever.

Where do they go from here?  How much will Henry put into the club now?

I can't see anything other than them looking back on this season as the one that could have been.  For many, many years to come.

I don't think it is like that.  They were never in the position of strength they were this year (and with so few games remaining).

The utter devastation their fans will be feeling must be crushing. :roflmao:

I'll admit, it has made a bad season into one I'm enjoying the end of. :roflmao:

It would have been a bit better if the Palace result had been the last game of the season when they needed 2 points to win the league, especially with how late the goals came.  That would have given me a tiny sense of revenge for the battering I took from Liverpool fans when City snatched the league in the dying seconds.  City winning it isn't good, but they have unodubtedly been the best team this season and I always say the same thing - it doesn't matter how you play, what you do or what people think, the best team always wins the league.  Arsene Wenger would do well to learn that.

Nice debut from James Wilson last night, and hopefully the final nail in Fellaini's career with United.

Giggs doesn't need any plaudits he hasn't already has.  A simply legendary figure.

Vidic goes with the very best of wishes after an outstanding period at the club as both a player and a very good Captain.

It looks like Van Persie is going to be given the armband next.  That surprises me as I thought Rooney might get it, but if Van Gaal is to be appointed then the bookmakers seem to favour RVP strongly.

Hopefully we'll see a lot more of Wilson (and Lawrence) next year.+++

Well you might say that since that's the way Cities more rubbish neighbours played all season.

Funny how after years of highs, winning stuff, the great reds are now more excited about an 18 years old debut or a new foreign manager than the game the team plays.

Am I right in thinking you reds may get to concentrate on just the PL next season since you might miss the place for the noddy Europa?

Even Tottenham get to play in that sometimes.

As always Arsenals season was shite, in the CL again, and a top 4 again. We might even fry some fisherman, or whatever they do in Hull, soon.

I predict Man Utd won't be in the CL next year, and that some great players won't be tempted to sign up until you do get CL, so your fecked next season. Let's hope the loop continues :)
