I will enjoy while I can then.

As I've always said, I still can't believe the team I support are actually challenging for things let alone winning cups and league titles.

To be fair City and Chelsea still aren't up to Utd's standards of the late 90's early 00's, producing consecutive league wins and multiple cups.

Maybe those days are gone or maybe they are yet to return.

One thing I know for certain is City best buy a bloody striker in January!

For what it is worth, I thought you did well last night.  For the first time ever, City showed a quality that is needed to progress in European competition.

Chelsea will romp away with the title this year and I still think they have a very real chance of winning the Champions League.  Real Madrid should be strong favourites as they are going through a process of destroying everyone in their path at present, but Chelsea are the type of team that can demoralise and put a stick in the spokes of a machine like that.

The 4-8 week loss of Aguero is huge for City, but Kompany and Silva will be back and I have little doubt you'll enter the transfer market in January and buy that striker you need.

I am just hoping United finally manage to put the same team out for consecutive matches.  I don't like blaming injuries and I think we've done remarkably well considering our plight at present.  37 players used so far this season - compared to an average of 22 for other Premier League teams.  Once we get our defence sorted and Di Maria realises that you have to play when it isn't 25 degrees or more out there, we'll be fine.

I am hugely disappointed at the lack of Falcao in the squad.  His injury (annoyingly not the one he joined us with) is a collosal hit to us and I confess to being a fan of his rather than objectively looking at why Van Gaal seems so reluctant to throw him back in the mix.  I don't believe the stories about fitness.  That's not my usual approach to reports either - I just don't think Van Gaal is too keen on him right now and I've no idea why.  If he was to play Wilson instead, I'd understand it - but his outings are sparse and I worry that he'll jump ship.  He is a future England star and a natural goal-scorer.

Spending in January isn't something I think you'll see from United.  I suspect it'll be another summer spree of £70-100m.  The cash is there and at this moment in time I think Falcao is likely to be sent back to Monaco.  I do hope not.  I foresee a time when we meet a team he plays in within 2-3 years and he'll put 3-4 goals past us.

I just like the attitude of the guy, his style of play and his record is outstanding.

I think we'll take third or fourth spot this year and I'll consider that a relatively swift success considering the turmoil Van Gaal took over.

Am I convinced of his plan?  Not particularly, but he's the manager so he'll have my support.+++

Utd have been utter dog crap this year. Their football is appalling and every player looks nervous.

Which is a massive worry because they are still winning games they shouldn't. Imagine when they get it right.

Lucky against Stoke, destroyed by Arsenal, and 2 goals from 2 shots in target against Saints.

The luck is with LVG this year as you seem to play teams when they are at their worst. Liverpool on Sunday is the latest fixture to crop up in the same vein.

Utd will not sign Falcao, he all ready looks an expensive mistake.

I wonder how many teams could actually field 37 players!

David De Gea is in brilliant form and has to be one of the best in the world the way he is playing right now.

I wonder if he could move on in the transfer window to a bigger club, one that could offer him champions league football.

:roflmao:

You're on form! :roflmao:

He has just signed a new 5 year, £140,000 a week, contract and will be going nowhere.

Rather like your team in the Champions League beyond March.

United will be back in the Champions League next year and perhaps City can watch them and learn?  I mean, you can't even put together a squad that can defend a league title....

Please, please, please tell me a City fan isn't about to try the 'money' argument. :roflmao:

Falcao hasn't had a chance to play.  I wish he had.  However, his time will come and he remains one of the most potent strikers in the world.  I am disappointed Van Gaal doesn't seem to want to play him, but as you know....you have to put faith in a manager.

There are still 20+ games to go in the Premier League and I think Falcao will get his chance and take it.+++

I'll admit I would be very disappointed if he wasn't given the opportunity by LVG.

Yep, came back and fired us to 'That' title.

As you love living in the past you will remember it well.

Utd 8 points clear with 5 games left.

5 points clear with 3 games left.

2 points clear with 5 seconds left.

Aguerooooooooooo.

Never has a team bottled it from Utd's position.

Enough living in the past though? Let's concentrate on the now.

Champions!

Was there a Premier League Referees' piss up last night? Some ****ing awful decisions. Liverpool should have lost to Leicester, Newcastle should have lost to Burnley, and as for Rob Green's save about 25 yards out....  :o

Oh, and Arsenal fans must be thanking their lucky stars tonight. They really should have lost about 7-0.

Add to that Chris Smalling's handball against Stoke. Very poor standard at the moment and things seem to be getting worse.

I'd honestly forgotten that one!

I think Leicester and Swansea can feel hardest done by. Utterly unfathomable decisions cost them two points each. You could certainly be forgiven for thinking the officials of QPR v Swansea don't like the Welsh for some reason.

In other news, it's fascinating what a difference a year makes. Twelve months ago there were some Everton fans happily rubbishing Moyes's record at the club and hailing Martinez as the new Messiah.
