Tipex
I'll say it again, you either get football or you don't. You don't. I do, it's the rest of you that don't. I'm all for banter, but telling someone they aren't a fan, or they should support another team becasue they don't share your unqualified opinion isn't banter, it's typical football fan stupidity. Twinspark
Yet another mediocre, Everton-esque performance from Moyes, then. He has settled into the same 'point is good enough' mentality that he had at Everton, and it's just not good enough. Spurs got tonked by City last week, we should have been kicking on from the win midweek with another strong performance today - but we got a mediocre safety-first approach. Again. m4ttm4son
Arsenal have to be considered a serious threat after a 0-3 win at Cardiff. They just have to. NewNiceMrMe
I wasn't being sarcastic. I was being entirely straight about it. I think they're now a contender. Liverpool aren't, but then again they never were. It is now between Arsenal, Chelsea, City and Manchester United. None of the others will sustain what they've done so far, whereas United are now unbeaten in 12 and will continue to improve. City look the most inconsistent, but on their day they'll beat anyone from any country. Chelsea look like Mourinho is starting to figure out his first 11, or a few variations of it, and I can't see them losing too many now Arsenal will be there or thereabouts if Ozil and Ramsey stay fit. I still don't think they'll win it, but I do think they stand a chance.
m4ttm4son
Do you not sense the sarcasm in his post Matt? MrMe's trying reverse psychology. Whilst not admitting it we keep winning, so maybe if he "admits" it we'll start to have a blip. I won't believe that Arsenal are truly truly in with a shout until about February or March, I think. We will be up there though The ManC and Chelsea game will be massive. I think it's quite important that neither is lost. I still stand by my original prediction. billy2shots
The Xmas period really is make or break. Utd have got a relatively easy few games once tonight is out of the way. City have a slightly trickier time if it but Arsenal have a real tough month coming up. Arsenal need to be 6 points clear of the Manchester clubs this time next month to be in with a shot IMHO. We all know the kind of runs Utd go on at the turn of the year. If not city then I would love the gunners to win it. I'm sure most fans would feel the same bar Spurs fans. Twinspark
It'll be another +2 points to the Gooners by the end of tonight, I reckon. Hope I'm wrong, but 'hard to beat' doesn't win titles.

Twinspark
Make that +3 to Arse, and everyone else in the top 4. Moyes is useless. Utterly clueless. Yet down at Fulham, Muelensteen takes over at Fulham... and they're 1-0 up against Spurs. (oops, I cursed him!) Twinspark
Well, it took him over a decade, but it seems that Moyes is finally going to see an Everton win at Old Trafford...

NewNiceMrMe
TwinSpark, how on earth can you accuse Moyes of being clueless? Just how? I'm getting tired of this now and clearly I'm not going to get anywhere so I'll just say this.... The title for United now would be a epic achievement. The reality is that tonight was a huge blow. Can I see them coming back from that? No. However, it doesn't for a moment change my support for the team and Moyes. He needs 2-3 years at least to make the club 'his' and that is what I, and any other supporter worth their salt, would be happy to give him. Jumping up and down, accusing him of being clueless, and generally just completely ignoring the fact we have enjoyed a period of unprecedented success under the greatest manager in history will get nobody anywhere. It will be to the detriment of the club. I am unhappy that Januzaj wasn't on from the start. But I am equally mindful that we've had Vidic (yes I know he played tonight) and Van Persie out for a number of games now. I am unhappy that Nani is getting into the squad. In fact I'm unhappy he's getting into Manchester. I am not best pleased with the performances of Valencia or the apparent lacklustre attitude of Welbeck. But I don't know what the club has planned for January (Sneijder if numerous reports are to be believed, but I'm not banking on that) so I'm not about to join those who, like me, really don't have a clue what is happening behind the scenes. I'll be more than happy if we get Champions League football next year (a competition I would remind TwinSpark of, because we seem to be forgetting our excellent progress in that). If we don't, so what? The club can stand the financial implications no problem at all. Anyone who tells you we can't doesn't know the true financial position. Furthermore, if the Glazers did ever sell then we'd have a queue of people lining up to buy it. Everyone in football knows and will tell you that. Just stop the panic. It is unnecessary and doesn't help. Edited December 4, 2013 by NewNiceMrMe

Twinspark
MrMe. It's not panic. It's watching the club start the 'Liverpool slide'. Once you've dropped, it's hard to claw it back. We are looking at finishing outside the top 4 this season - and possibly even outside the top 5. Which drastically limits the ability to attract players, and does have a big financial impact. The Glazers won't be up for that - they don't feck about and he'll be gone before he can hit them in the pocket. He's taken a title winning side to mid table mediocrity, he's bought badly - £28m would have been better kept in the bank rather than spent on Sideshow Bob. He's made so many big mistakes since arriving - starting with sacking all the people who would have stopped this slide from happening! Fergie was good, no mistake - but a good manager can only shine if they appoint the right people alongside them - binning the experience of Phelan and Muelensteen will come back to haunt him, as they were absolutely integral to the success of the club. I just don't buy the 'give him time to make the club his own' - Pellegrini, Jose and Martinez have all stepped into clubs and are doing a better job than Moyes. He needs to go. Now, before we do finish mid-table, as that would be a complete fücking disaster for United. Oh, and that Champions' League thing - I'd hardly call it 'excellent' - we played well for 3 halves against Leverkusen, but were (I think) the last of the 'big' European clubs to rack up the points needed to qualify. We even managed to make Sociedad look half decent, gifting them their only point. Edited December 4, 2013 by Twinspark
