Luke
Just getting ready for Villa v Man Utd, then the Spurs game. Using manflu to full effect today.
NewNiceMrMe
The Telegraph wrote a piece about the sponsorship at the time Ferguson retired. They said it was no coincidence that for the last 8 or so years United had always told sponsors that they would not accept any deals based on the longevity or prospect of SAF staying in charge. They did this under the guise of "managerial positions being of the unpredictable nature that they are". I thought that was quite amusing. As if he was ever going to get sacked. Twinspark
Can't even be arsed watching the brand of shite Moyes has served up this season. Looks like a good win today, though.

NewNiceMrMe
I'd be happy if you never watched again! You don't deserve to see the style of football they played going forward today. Januzaj was excellent, two superb goals from Welbeck and a very good finish indeed from Cleverley. Both of whom (the latter two) I savaged earlier this week. Waylander
Bloody hell we should be out of sight by now. Cue the sucker-punch
Luke
This could be 0-4 or 0-5. Liverpool flying and cutting Spurs at will. Our defence is shocking, we have some injuries but this lot are dreadful. Edited December 15, 2013 by Luke
Waylander
We are generally worse in the 2nd half though, that's my worry

Luke
I never wanted AVB anyway. I don't like his style of football. He's won nothing and he buys crap players. Sorry, I'm having a twinspark moment....

Scotty
Any one able to give me a glimmer of light? West Ham back to bobbing around relegation No strikers Carroll still out with loads of people speculating he's not injured but in rehab Nolan banned for the Christmas period (3rd time with us and 5th in his career) Long injury list etc

garcon magnifique
All down to targets. Levy's was to be in the title fight. Tottenham aren't and won't be. For me, odds on that was AVB's last game. On the managerial front, I know West Brom have had some poor results but I'm shocked that they've sacked Clarke. Luke
The Clarke sacking was a strange one.
garcon magnifique
He upset the chairman in August, so potentially he was always one bad run away. But I have no idea who they think they can appoint who'll do a better job than Clarke. I hope they go down now. Does raise an interesting option - if Daniel Levy still has faith in AVB, how about offering Clarke a position as first team coach?
Luke
Spurs are starting to remind me off QPR last season, with all these new players. They just seem to swan around and take no responsibility. It's ok beating teams you've never heard of in the Europa Cup but in really big prem games we are miles away at the moment. All Levy can see is his unbelievable deal/money for Bale pissing around looking like it's halved in value.
NewNiceMrMe
So are we saying AVB achieved what he did last year on the back of Redknapp's work? And that Bale dug them out of the crap nine times out of ten? This year, he's bought £100m of players and can't figure out how to play or motivate them? That's how it looks to me. However, I hope they don't sack him. Levy isn't a guy that takes prisoners and don't think he's going to like what he saw today, but I do think a manager deserves time to build a team. Does raise an interesting option - if Daniel Levy still has faith in AVB, how about offering Clarke a position as first team coach? I read an interesting forum post (Baggies) earlier. The guy said that the WBA Chairman had wanted a top 6 finish. Their wage bill is big, he's spent more cash than ever before and he thinks Top 6 was acheiveable but would settle for no less than top 10. Most people seemed to agree that's what the Chairman wanted. They said he felt that after Hodgson the club should be challenging for Europe and, wait for it, they wanted to be in a Champions League place within 5 years. I should add that despite them all thanking the Chairman for his investment, not a single one of them felt he was of this planet. p.s. as Garcon says, he's had a falling out with the Chairman too. Apparently he wasn't happy with how Clarke dealt with the press and he had already told him they'd not be signing a striker in January (which Clarke has been asking for). After the BBC interview last night (watch it) in which Clarke said the players he had should be scoring goals and they would provide them in future, he's supposed to have gone to the Chairman and said something akin to "Look, everyone agrees, we need a striker". That, as they say, was that. Edited December 15, 2013 by NewNiceMrMe
