Aguero is a huge miss for us though. We only look like scoring 3 or 4 per match now rather than 6 or 7. He could be back by the end of January which is better than the 8 week prediction of a week or two ago.

Arsenal have done fairly well given their festive fixtures and it's nice to see them kick on again after the City result.

Man U did well to come back against Hull but my god that Hull side are poor. Sagbo and Graham have to be the worst strike pairing the league has ever seen. Danny Graham looks like he has lost any ability he once had, the ball just hits the pair of them and bounces off somewhere. They couldn't control a bag of sand.

It will be interesting to see how Moyes copes with the diving antics of his players. Don't get me wrong, every team has one or two who 'go down easy' but in Januzaj, Rooney, Welbeck, Young and Cleverly Utd have the quality to challenge Tom Daily. It's ok according to Gary Neville though because these guys are just 'predicting the contact'.

Liverpool can feel robbed of a goal though.  That decision was incomprehensible.

However, it could, and should, have been 5-2.  I still think Liverpool will slide down the table.

Thank you for taking the blinkers off and agreeing on another day we should have put those chances away including an open goal and won 2-5 +++:P

Ermm, this will be the same poor Hull side that had only conceded 3 goals at home all season until now?

As for the diving, Januzaj will learn and Young never will.  The rest are just typical City fan comments.

Fact is, United are recovering well and you are getting a little twitchy.+++

I'm starting to think Mr. Me may have got something right (even a stopped clock etc.) - Moyes looks like he's finally worked out what the hell he should be doing as a United manager. Assisted by players starting to believe in him, too. Welbeck in particular, looks to be right back to the kind of form he's shown for England.

No Van Persie.  No Rooney.  Not even Welbeck until half time.

Hull can't score goals.  Who said that, in a manner of speaking?

Grind out results.

City did it today too to be fair.  Because Palace were all over them according to Sky Sports and Hart had to make save after save to stop them going down to a defeat.  But it's the result that matters and they got it.

I said it many times - we had a terrible start to the season in terms of the teams we had to play early and I don't think it helped one bit.

There is still £100m-£120m in cash sat waiting to be spent too.

Moyes's aggression on the touchline against Hull was excellent to see.  The passion was there and the players can see it now.  This man is no pushover and he's the right choice now - just as he was on Day 1 and just as I'll be saying if we finish 15th.

The tactics in the last 3 games have been spot on in the absence of RVP and his sporadic (unless forced as against Hull) selection of Januzaj is well thought out in my opinion.  That kid is going to be a superstar and we need him for the games where it counts.  Starting with Chelsea in a few weeks time and the 3 points we'll be taking off them.+++

"Hull are a poor side"

Fair enough on the comments about Graham and Sagbo, but the overall point was that they're a poor team - and they're not.  Their record at home is excellent and a United win there was a good one.  I simply think it was very unfair to call them a poor side.

Your team were very lucky indeed today.  Though I also accept luck can often come in the form of a goalkeeper putting in a very good shift and a striker that puts the ball in the net.

Some interesting stats. on www.statto.com.

Liverpool are 'flat track bullies' with great form vs. bottom half teams, whilst down in mid-table with us vs. top half teams.

City and Liverpool have the best home form, United and Arse the best away form.

I reckon a Chelski win tomorrow, as Liverpool are on the slide and haven't got great form against the top teams.

That isn't really use and I have used that term a couple months ago - maybe not on this thread.

i would take that any day. We uses to rise for the big games in seasons passed and drop loads of points to the lower teams.

Chelsea will win not because they are a "top" team but because they are deathly dull and will stifle the life out of the game giving no room, and we are utterly sh*t at defending set pieces.

Quite often the difference between winning the title and finishing top 4 is results against the nearest competition.

Sometimes, you can win the title without taking points off your nearest competition - but this only works when they're dropping points to the lower half.

The most interesting thing for me is that, should Liverpool fail to win tomorrow, United will be within a single win of them - despite their worst first half of the season since the early 90s.

I suspect Chelsea v Liverpool will be a draw.

Whilst I expect Liverpool to continue to slide, I don't think Mourinho is anywhere near getting the team he wants.  They're so dull they're almost too dull to be a Jose team, and that is saying something.

I think it'll take a moment of genius from the likes of Hazard or Oscar to get a Chelsea win, although that could easily happen.

Liverpool have one hope and we all know who that is.

I still can't see beyond City at the moment though.  Todays result confirmed that for me.  Even when they're absolutely crap they are now grinding results out.  They have so much strength in depth it is difficult to find a weakness.  Mind you, Silva is now suspended for New Years Day and he's always a big loss to their overall strategy.

Kompany is hitting form again and that is never a good sign for any other team.  They even held him back today.  And Toure.  That is frightening.  Saving players of that quality for the next match is a statement of squad depth of quite breath-taking proportions.  I hate them.
