Torino101
I'm gutted. Feels like a loss. Arsenal are absolutely awful. We had 57% possession and 17 shots to your 6, not to mention more on target and fewer fouls. So if we're 'absolutely awful' where does that put Man U?? NewNiceMrMe
You were dreadful. You were the home team for gods sake! You're meant to be challenging for the title as we rebuild! You looked like the away team at times! Embarassing for a supposed title challenging team.
Scotty
Neither looked like contenders... But arsenal did have more to lose so it kinda explains the performance somewhat.

Milo
They're resting their new £37m star. No point in him peaking too soon and ruining a £25m move to Madrid in the summer.

NewNiceMrMe
He still visits by the look of it. He'll be waiting to say "told you so" or something like that if we finish 15th (or worse). Signing Mata won't have been to his liking because he'll have been hoping we got nobody so he could pour more scorn on the club. That's what fans of that West Yorkshire based 'pretend club' do. I really don't care where we finish. Moyes was, to his credit, urging them on in the last 5 minutes. The problem I have is that Januzaj really should have been on sooner and there is no way Mata should have been brought off. Arsenal had their best moments from thereon because our midfield control went and that was too risky. The Rafael injury probably changed his plans a little, but Ferdinand was outstanding when he came on. Edited February 13, 2014 by Daz

garcon magnifique
Least I hope that's all it is and not his dodgy ticker. That is a fair point. We assume - and hope - he is merely sulking. So anyway, did anything actually happen at the Emirates last night? I was fast asleep by the time they got round to it on MotD and woke up during Stoke v Swansea...

Milo
In all honesty, yes. Simply because I can't see all the bottom half of the table catching us. I would like to see us 4th bottom, avoiding relegation by goal difference. Then hopefully the abuse the fat cnut will get will be enough for him to lower his ridiculously high asking price for the club and sell up. To someone who doesn't see the club as simply a massive billboard for his own businesses. Edited February 13, 2014 by Milo

NewNiceMrMe
Ashley won't go until he gets at least £300m for the club, probably more. He's just a cut throat businessman and a very successful one. That said, the recent drop in form might lead to him wanting to cut his losses? I think he saw them as nailed on for the Europa Cup or a European place through a cup win this year. I really do. So as that is now looking as likely as Man United winning the league, maybe he'll call it a day? I just don't see him as someone prepared to admit defeat, so I think, unfortunately, you're stuck with him.
garcon magnifique
Plan B then. Just need to find someone in Newcastle who can shoot straight...
Milo
There is [another] campaign gathering momentum to try and hit Ashley the only way he reacts to. In his pocket. That involves boycotting of season ticket renewals and merchandise; the thought process being if his pocket money fund dries up, he'll fcuk off and milk another organisation. But we all know how hard it is to get these things to work.... He wants £300m. Which is a piss-take. That price would make him a massive profit, for doing what? People buy and sell businesses at a profit usually because they've improved them. While he may have improved the balance sheet (and is taking full repayment in the meantime), the club is in a much worse state in footballing terms than it's been for years. And it's teetering on the brink of another meltdown, in my opinion. I said before the Sunderland game I couldn't see where our next goal would come from. And nothing's changed. Personally, I'd not hang around anywhere where I'm not wanted (waits for the inevitable...). He's had a good run at it, as well as millions of pounds of free advertising* as well and global publicity for his brands. No one wants him, no one likes him. Sell up (at a realistic price) and let someone with an interest in football and the club, try to take it forward. As long as his name is above the door, we'll never be far away from the relegation battles. * I read somewhere the advertising revenue at the ground has slumped because of his insistence his Sports Direct logo takes up almost every available square inch of advertising space. Yup, and yet where is one of the groups strongest performing Cities? Newcastle. I just don't get it, if I was a Newcastle fan I wouldn't go anywhere near one (well I'd commit suicide first of course).
NewNiceMrMe
Does anyone have a clue what Mauricio Pochettino was thinking today? He selected the most bizarre first team for the FA Cup tie with Sunderland and it appeared that he couldn't care less! They've now gone out of the competition. What does he think he can do? Win the league? Qualify for the Champions or Europe League? I think it was one of the most bizarre things I've seen for a while where selection is concerned. He sat there throughout the match slumped in his seat and looking as if he couldn't give a toss! Edited February 15, 2014 by NewNiceMrMe
