Luke
That West Brom are a team, aren't they? PLayed really well and nullified the Arsenal threat very well. Amalfitano, Sessegnon and Berahino were causing trouble all day. Fair point. Just a shame the ref had some kind of aversion to blowing his whistle. I bet the take a few points off the other top teams, oh wait They could get European football next season if they keep it up. Never mind Luke I'm looking forward to MotD2 That AVB is shite, you know. Scotty
The Hammers are in the relegation zone I can't say it wasn't coming. To win games you need to score goals. Goals come from strikers. Nuff said. OK So I was talking bollox. Today we played a team with no one up front and got three past Spurs. Well done Big Sam!
Scotty
Have Man U fans turned their back on the team already? Just wondering why this is out there? Don't they fill their seats? http://getaways.groupon.co.uk/27749064?nlp=&CID=UK_CRM_1_0_0_283&a=2463 (Before you start - yep I expect there'll be a lot of these when West Ham move to their new ground!!) garcon magnifique
There's been space at OT for some games for quite a few years now. It is a very big stadium!

Milo
Newcastle United. Back at the top of the league. Newcastle United top of the league table
Luke
Are you sure about that? How much do you think would be in the transfer kitty if you did? But they can't use that stadium forever. It's a brilliant place to watch footy and the atmosphere is fantastic. However the facilities inside the ground are appalling. It's a nightmare to get to the loos, don't even bother getting food or drink at half time either. They could get another 20-25,000 people in every home game now, no problem. Calm Chris
As you now WHL is a mare to get to, rubbish transport and no decent solution to the logistical issues of getting 60,000 people in and out. I'm still not sure why they didn't push the Wembley or Olympic Stadium route. The local papers have for a few years published various renders of the new stadium and yeah they look decent. However I still think Spurs should move out of the existing WHL area. What's wrong with Southend, the IOW or even Canvey Island?
garcon magnifique
What's wrong with Southend, the IOW or even Canvey Island? They're nowhere near Tottenham? (As a follower of the team that is nowhere near Woolwich, I don't entirely expect you to appreciate that... )
Luke
Canvey Island stinks! Not sure what the answer is. Unless they do something with transport links/underground, 60,000 people coming out onto the A10, North Circular on a week night would probably cause gridlock to all of North and East London. It's bad enough, now. Perhaps we could ground share at The Emirates?
m4ttm4son
Yeah, sure *waits til they sell WHL and then changes mind* Edited October 11, 2013 by m4ttm4son

Luke
Talking to one of the other dads at kids footy this am. He's on the waiting list at Spurs for a season ticket. Currently he is over 40,000 in line, ffs!
NewNiceMrMe
Townsend will leave. As do any half decent players from Spurs. England are crap. A weakened (4 players out) Montenegro team and we need an own goal to get any real momentum. If we qualify it is going to ruin the World Cup in 2014. I'd much rather watch and enjoy it without the frustrations and anger that are almost certain to accompany an England team in it.

If we fail to qualify I could see a real revamp of the way things are done.
Luke
I know England are poo but a World Cup without your own team is just as hard too watch. My two boys are desperate to see them qualify.

My two boys are desperate to see them qualify. I couldn't disagree more. I find them frustrating and (under Hodgson) about as boring a football team as I have ever seen. I have no wish to have the world's greatest football tournament ruined by an inept national performance, especially as every national media outlet will hype us up to be the next Spain. I'm a fan of football first and foremost, and England don't represent it like I want to see it played. I'd rather we weren't there.

I don't, simply because I don't believe those responsible are capable of it. Dyke's commission will achieve nothing, and he will be gone in months citing the impossibility of the role. Luke
I think every Englishman now accepts we are a rubbish international side. We go into competitions knowing we won't win. We are Ireland and Scotland in 5 years time. I'd still love us to go the World Cup though. I know after 5 mins of the first game I'd wish we hadn't qualified but getting there would give every one a lift. And think of all the pizza and beer that would be bought and then thrown on to people's carpets/settees as we get stuffed!
garcon magnifique
I think every Englishman now accepts we are a rubbish international side. Every Englishman capable of rational thought knows this. Unfortunately, that only covers 5% of football fans.
m4ttm4son
I won't say that i don't want England to qualify, but I'll enjoy watching them getting spanked. There's plenty of other cruddy teams in the World Cup finals, so why not Boring England? Nothing good can come from them not qualifying. The youth thing has already been put into motion and any experience the young players can get from going to the finals is always useful for them. Plus, maybe we can see John Terry cry again
