I'm lol'ing at the Man U fans arguing on 5 live at the moment, it's like a competition over who's supported them the longest and therefore has the most valid opinion! :roflmao:

It doesn't matter if you've supported a team for 5 minutes or 50 years, your opinion is worth no more than anyone else's.

I am guessing you were bored of the conversations as you have heard it all before played out on here with NNMM and T_S :P

I've not heard the debate but whilst opinions are valid no matter what, because it is everyones right to voice one, in football there is a lot of opinion that centres around what a fan is used to.

I hear it from 25-30 year olds and younger.  How bad everything is.  What planet do they live on?  The club has given fans more success than most will get if they lived a hundred lifetimes.

The problem is this country, especially in the Premier League, is that the 'real' fans can be counted very quickly - because there are very few of them.

You don't follow a club to watch it win trophies.  It'd be nice, but you follow them because you enjoy football and you have developed some kind of affinity with them.  Be it local, through parents, grandparents, friends, whatever.

The problem with most United fans is they feel they have a right to win something every year.  We don't.  They also continually forget just where the club was 30 years ago and the period of unprecedented success it has given them.  It is, ultimately, freakish success and domination that you can't find in almost every other country with a major league (not Portugal, or Austria etc, where it is always one of two teams that win everything).

If I listen to the opinions of a fan who has supported United for 5 years, or 15 years, or 20 years, and then I hear the view of someone who has supported them for 35 or 40 years, I can tell you before I hear them that I know which is likely to speak more sense.

I could be said to be unlucky in the sense that when I followed the club home, away and overseas, we didn't enjoy huge success for the first 20 years.  But we still won trophies.  I got to see my team win the league, lift European trophies and do you know what?  I honestly couldn't care less if I never see them lift another!  They have given me more reward than I could have ever dreamed of.  So if I was to join in a debate, it'll be on the grounds of being a fan of football, not Manchester United.  Yes they're my passion as a club and I want to see them succeed, but more than anything I just want to see them play.

I watch the Bundesliga, La Liga and occasionally Serie A.  I even watch the lower leagues and my local club in the foundation tiers of football.  It is superb.  All of it.

So I'll give you an opinion and no matter what you think of me I can assure you it will be of more value or carry more experience than someone who has followed the game for 5 years.  Both opinions are valid, but if they've been brought up on a diet of success every year then they can't help but have a very blinkered and silver-lined view.  I don't mind saying, I despair at those fans.  They need to wake up and be grateful.

Football is a wonderful game.  But you don't have to win to enjoy it.

Might happen.

I'm not making a score prediction though.

It won't surprise me if we go out, but equally I won't be surprised if we manage to make it through.  I think it'll all depend on the start we get.  The 15 minutes are crucial.

I think Moyes should be given time. Look what he did for Everton, he has a proven track record.

In a few years, there's no reason why he can't have Man U up to 5th in the league, too.

It's a lot higher than your mob have managed in almost 2 decades....:roflmao:

This shows that the shite we've seen from United this season is all down to the manager.

With nothing to lose, they've thrown caution to the wind and gone for it.

I'm torn tonight. If we pull off a miracle and win old Big Ears, Moyes is unsackable... But I want him gone tomorrow.
