NewNiceMrMe
I didn't know the Plex software worked on any TV. I just run it on an iPad and stream via Apple TV. However, I've put the ATV on our conservatory television, so if I can use the Plex app on the main living room TV then I'll be properly happy. CarMad
Yep, you just search for it in the apps add and away you go. Its pretty quick and spritely as well, you just point it at the IP that the Plex server sits on. I've also got the NowTV and side loaded the Plex client for another TV a nice easy solution for only £10.

shao_khan
I like the look of these sound bars. Are they as good as a cheapo multi speaker cinema sound set up? I've had 2 sounds bars in main living room and they were total waste of space. In the kids TV room it was fine because of the smaller dimensions, but as main sound source I've still got an old 5.1 system as the sound bar didn't come close. Waylander
I need a better solution for our living room. I have a Yamaha amp and essentially need the rear speakers to mirror the sound from the TV rather than "surround" (I think the rears provide "surround" effects not voice etc?) as we have to whack the tv (or amp) volume up to get clear voice and it is getting annoying
eldavo69
Can you not adjust the volume on the centre speaker channel independently?
Waylander
I'm sure you can. I have had a bit of a play a few times - just not found the sweet spot.... I never really "got" the point of the rear speakers for "normal" listening (yes I am a luddite)
scooby_simon
So what apps do I need on my new TV?
Scotty
That depends on what you've already got : I've got VirginMedia Tivo which comes with various apps (Youtube, iPlayer, etc) so the TV doesn't need to be capable....but sometimes it's handy when it is. Internet radio can be handy but depends if you're TV is clever enough to turn off the screen whilst doing it. Again I've got that via my smart Home Cinema system so I don't "need" it on the TV. You don't really "need" any though.
