I've just switched it off.

Flowers and Cook both have to go.

This isn't defeat, it isn't even just a whitewash, it is complete and utter humiliation of English Cricket.

None of them have stood up to be counted.  They're a bunch of spineless chickens who want to be home as soon as possible.  I am absolutely appalled.  I don't think any English side has ever capitulated in this fashion.

Thought it was worth starting a thread on this now.

A little late given the hammering we took in the first test. I for one can't see things getting any better. We were lucky in the summer winning against a very poor Aus team and we even needed the weather to help us out on more than one occasion.

Our ability with the bat is the big worry. We have struggled for the last couple of years to score over 300 runs in an innings. That's always going to put us on the back foot and leave us relying on our bowling attack to bail us out. Thankfully we have one of the best attacks in the game but they can't do it every time and when it fails we get destroyed.

We'll win.

And Billy, with respect, our batsmen are far from woeful. Don't jump on that bandwagon - they are a proper quality unit.

We will.

So we've had a poor first test, it doesn't mean we're going to lose.

Johnson won't bowl as well as that again.  Plus, the statistics that out of all his bowling only 12 would have hit the stumps is a very telling one.  It could be argued he doesn't need them to, but I think the England batsmen will have learned their lesson and won't make the same mistakes again.

I think we'll win it 2-1, possibly 3-1.  I certainly don't see the Aussies winning the series.

Now about that bandwagon.........

Our bowlers IMHO are quality when playing in England. We are not quick or accurate enough when the ball doesn't swing. Anderson is in the top 3 swing bowlers in the world but when the ball doesn't move he is a fast medium bowler in the low 80mph.

Steve Finn must be bowling a bag of crap in the nets to not get a look in. Rankin is 29 and won't be around for too many series. Why not give Finn more time in the middle (apart from the fact he keeps kicking the stumps down).

How we can go from number 1 in the world to this, is beyond me. The only thing that comes close is Englands rugby team after winning the World Cup, but at least then we lost a raft of experienced players. Our cricket team or the one that started the series was largely unchanged.
