Andrew
Words fail me. Weak from Swann.
Luke
Here comes the 5-0. Swann would probably have been dropped but he should have kept quiet and retired after the series, if he had any class/bottle.
Waylander
Probably just didn't want to be on that 0-5 flight back. weak and rather pathetic, right after his fb comment revelation.
Torino101
There may be extenuating circumstances - but on the face of it appears cowardly and pathetic. What a way to tarnish your reputation at the end of a largely glittering career.
Luke
Maybe he was asked to resign after his comments.
cruiser647
That might be so, but you wouldn't ask for it mid-series.
NewNiceMrMe
From what I read after that debacle his position was secure and the team backed him. Â I just think it's a sign of the pressure the squad is feeling and the strength of some characters is clearly weaker than others. Â Again though, I think Flower has to take responsibility at some point for what appears to be a team rapidly showing it is very frayed.
garcon magnifique
I refuse to criticise Swann until we know more about what's really going on - if we ever do. Â Vaughan backs him for going now and allowing the rebuild to begin. That's enough for me.
Waylander
http://m.bbc.com/sport/cricket/25489391 Hardly the most dignified of exits. He should include himself in that comment I reckon.
garcon magnifique
Sounds like an exasperated man. He's absolutely right of course, but now probably wasn't the time. Â I don't think Swann is or ever has been up himself. He just tells it as it is. He's not the kind of person to put up a pretence for the sake of 'harmony' if he doesn't believe the whole squad is pulling in the same direction. Waylander
I don't know. He was a talented bowler no doubt but was a right tw@t if anyone dropped anything off him and smiles all round when he was doing the dropping.
garcon magnifique
Having said that, he's definitely reached the point where he really should just shut the feck up.

billy2shots
Wow just wow. 65 for none changes to 179 all out. 114 runs for 10 wickets. How can we go from total control to the brink of defeat so quickly. If Austrailia win 5-0 they will replace us as 3rd in the world. We will be 4th in the world having been 1st not so long ago! cruiser647
There was a real chance and an opportunity to win this one.............    Possible defeat snatched from the jaws of potential victory.

NewNiceMrMe
I wonder if we could convince Kallis to find a long lost English relative and come out of retirement for one match?
billy2shots
Kallis is imho one of the top 5 players of all time. So consistent and after a slow first 2 years he has been a run machine. Pretty decent with ball in hand too. He will be a big miss to the game and it could unbalance SA.
