Waylander
Probably freudian slip as it is likely to be just the one anyway
NewNiceMrMe
The lack of response to this thread (two posters), three now, says it all. English cricket died in Australia in 2013. Nobody cares now. It is desperately sad to see but on the back of such an appalling performance, who can blame anyone other than players and management? I fear the revival could be prolonged and painful.
Andrew
I had a choice this morning - Australian Open or the cricket. I enjoyed the tennis. Thing about the cricket is that Aussie are resting people, we are resting people, so the ODI series is of little interest. If England were serious about winning any ODI match they would have KP out there - arguably the best ODI player in the world. Certainly one of them. I'd also like Cook to change the record. I don't mind his captaincy continuing, but the bloke needs to go on a public speaking course other than the one the politicians go on; he just sounds so samey and insincere. So, for me, we see out the down under tour, get back to the UK, win against Sri Lanka and India in the sumer, build some confidence and sort our shit out in the back room. We also need to think a bit more expansively than just winning on UK soil and build a plan to beat SA in a couple of years. I don't mind a lull (MrMe will doubles concur) and if it is a wake-up call then great. However, Cook's boring old rhetoric and the fact KP isn't in the ODI side (is he resting - does he want to rest?) makes me wonder if in fact any of them have woken up. Andrew
I'm not Carr's biggest fan - doubtless he hasn't the mental capacity to appreciate cricket. Bits of it were funny though ... Edited January 24, 2014 by Andrew

NewNiceMrMe
Stunning. I watched it from 18 balls to go. The decision for Bopara being out was rather unlucky, but Broad needs to shoulder some blame for the swinging at the big hit when we didn't need it at that stage. I also didn't think Jordan should have ran for the single at the end. As soon as he lost the strike, it was inevitable. cruiser647
Sorry! False dawn. Like the Victoria Line after the concrete fiasco, normal service has been resumed.
