Attempted to get to Ilkley on the train [less than 10 miles away] with the 2 kids but the queues were mental - so tuned back home. Shame the wifey was working and i was in charge of the young 'uns, could have easily cycled down to Pool/Otley to watch.

Watching on tv made me rather proud of where i live!

Was great to see even though it was over in a flash, I was down the other end of Otley, totally mobbed all day and looked quite messy in the pubs later in the evening.:-)

Nice one. +++

We were with kids so no beer involved, managed to avoid the road chaos and get across to Skipton to see some friends for the evening. They'd watched the Tour then sat in the garden for the afternoon. They were all battered by the time I got there! :P

I took a conference call sitting on a grass verge down an Essex lane. It was nicely timed  :secret: between the caravan coming through and the actual race.

Amazing how many vehicles are involved. Still seems a bit surreal that the Tour De France has come along road that I rode my bike along many years ago.

I chose not to mix it with the crowds and met up with my Father.

Even made it on to the telly  :roflmao:

Essex looked pretty good today. Maybe some will open their eyes and realise it's not just Dagenham, Southend and TOWIE.

Had the ITV coverage on today - the commentators had the annoying habit of picking out London landmarks, telling a fact about them, only for us to be told, almost verbatim, exactly the same thing again by the other commentator.

It was very odd. They were quite specific facts too.
