Scotty
If only we had an expert in this area on TSN!! My issue at work : Background is that we've been acquired and will in time be fully merged into the corporate IT but not yet. Currently I'm using Office365 and all the email etc is cloud based. I'm not on the corporate LAN and effectively just have web access. I can launch VDI when required so that I can get to the corporate tools etc. I have been migrated onto the corporate Lync system and that can access the Central Address Book. I can't access own Office365 contacts via Lync though. I do have a corporate email account (via VDI) and have imported all my 365 contacts into that but it's still not picking them up in Lync. I assume it's because Lync is pointing to my corporate account but can't reach it as I'm not on the corporate LAN/domain yet. So the question is can I force Lync to look at my Office365 account and still have access to the corporate CAB?
Mac
You need the Lync client and Outlook running in the same session - Lync will then search the GAL and your local contacts. Least I think that's what you're asking. Other option is to make sure EWS is working properly on Exchange and is accessible - you can search via that as well. Mac
You can use EWS as well assuming you have it configured. Some guidance here on how Lync connects to Exchange: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2787614
Scotty
It doesn't look like it. In the Lync Configuration Information both the Internal and External EWS URLs are blank. I got as far as logging in on a browser to https://outlook.office365.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx and that told me I've created a service and then started on about the config files and code files. At this point I'll step back it wanted me to use svcutil.exe and start generating Config and code files. I'll need to admit defeat before I spend too much time on it or bugger up my work laptop! Cheers.
Mac
If you want to email me the domain name I can check out and see if it's configured for EWS or not.
